But co-existence? That's not likely to ever happen, not as long as the gods are immortal and they keep messing around with mortals.
It's kind of a depressing thought, and one that Percy doesn't entertain for too long because she brings up controlling elements like she's describing what he can do as a son of Poseidon (and no, he hasn't forgotten that she's asked about that too. It's just ... something that he's trying to work out how to respond without sounding like a weirdo.), and now he wonders if he were in her world, he'd be called a bender. ]
