Achilles, son of Peleus ([personal profile] heelies) wrote in [community profile] abraxasooc 2024-03-29 11:02 pm (UTC)

How strange it seems to Achilles that to one whom he has just met, he is as familiar as the banks by which one grew to manhood — a deeper knowing than a man's name and deeds which are exalted in song across so many lands. Stranger still, Zagreus' familiarity strikes in Achilles the longing for a bond he cannot remember for it has yet to be forged. This is the nearest thing he has to familiar in a land so foreign.

Thus, warmly does he answer, "It is not so difficult, it only requires patience and practice. Just so with dividing the meat — one must know where to slice, but once he learns, it comes easily. Watch, son of Hades—"

As Peleus' son places his blade, he describes each step for his mentee. The narrator, however, has not eaten meat in over a decade and has no desire to delve into the subject on Google, so the audience will have to rely on imagination.
