[ The horses calming down does seem to help — a bit — with the roar of noise and visual stimuli that seems to have surrounded Percy within the last few minutes of his distraction. He doesn't register it as anything specific, but the pinched look in his expression eases ever so slightly. However, try as he might, and truthfully he isn't trying all that hard on account of his own fears gripping at him, he doesn't see a way out of here.

No doors, no spots of warm and inviting light, no neon sign with a blinking arrow telling him, 'Freedom from your own waking nightmares, right here!'

He thinks he can hear someone else, here with him in Tartarus 2.0, and it's familiar like he's heard that voice before. But it isn't Annabeth, and some distant howl of dry, acrid wind captures his attention again.

He mumbles something unintelligible, something caught between a gasp and the starts of a name. It probably doesn't come out sounding so cool. ]
