Iggy snorts, but then his face pales and stills as Teddy goes on. It's rare to find someone who actually knows much about fringe religions, after all. And rarer still that they seem... into it?
"My great-great-grandma knew the Fox sisters," he says shyly. "Her family were Doukhobors - they emigrated to get away from the Russian government, and she met them after she landed in Ontario. She kinda fell in love with the whole thing, so she broke off from the rest of the family and started a Spiritualist church. My mom runs it now." He looks down at his hands, then back up again with another nervous smile. "Uhm. I'm named after Sir Arthur Ignatius Conan Doyle, actually."
He perks up a little bit. "I've never seen anyone speak in tongues in person. Not like they do in movies, anyway. We were more about getting, you know. Clear messages." Not that he's trying to throw shade at the Pentecostals, but he can just imagine the disdain his mother would have for such a garbled communication.
Iggy relaxes even further, because really who didn't have an edgy 'spell candle' phase? "You're really open minded, huh?
"I have a feeling whatever is here is a little more immediate than we're used to, though. Like 'might see a god out in the woods' immediate. I dunno. It's just very much the vibe."
