Secret?

[ She repeats the word in the way someone might urge caution, eclipsed in thought and consideration. As an Air Nomad, Jinora isn't supposed to know much about Secrets. They're at peace with the world, free souls. Or they were - she maybe studied their culture and knew it well enough to be declared a master, but the era of the Air Nation had changed. ]

[ When it comes to the past, they only have tales of old to go on. And maybe that's why, she can only relate to her own knowledge. To a time where Spirits would not show themselves to humans and when her seeing of them had to be a secret, because no one else could do it. ]

Are they not something everyone sees then, is that it? Or maybe if they were seen someone might do something bad to it?

[ She understands that too well - on many levels. Korra was kept away because people would use the Avatar. And even the Airbenders, brought back from the brink of destruction, were sought out and weaponized. Both ideas go against her nature that the idea sends a shiver down her back. ]

Yeah, I don't know. Maybe if I saw more of them? I think that's the only way to know for sure.

[ And then figuring out what animals are the same or different would be a headache - not that it wouldn't be a headache she'd soon live through if she stayed here. ]

[ Such a headache is far from mind as she perks up as the conversation continues, half jumping in delight - the wind plucking and pulling at her clothing to make her jump higher and land more smoothly, as naturally as one might flip. ]

I knew it! So you do think he's cute. [ And also there's more to be told!! And unfortunately, she's still a very excited romantic so she continues: ] How did you meet? He must be really special if you can stand the smell.
