That's the short version. It was more complicated than that. Stupid rock was upset for a long time, going worse with every passing day, until one day it culminated in such a tantrum that whole continent noticed. Though they all would rather it didn't. For a piece of magical rock it's awfully temperamental.

And as always, whenever there's turbulence, they all get involved. Every single time.
