The main cities in the Free Cities are pretty spread out, and in the case of Libertas there's a large range of mountains between it and anywhere else. They're roughly a couple of hundred miles apart from each other with smaller settlements and farms and the like in between. Of course acquiring a horse cuts down those times significantly, and there are wagons that take passengers between Cadens, Libertas, and Aquila. So passage between can take as little as just under a week by fast horse or wagon.

Currently at this particular time, due to the state of tension between the different factions, the only way to return to Thorne without magic is by foot or on a horse, but the distance is very vast and the roads extremely dangerous.
