and it does let some of her anxieties melt away (or at least be hazier from alcohol), slowly drinking in between their gentler aspects of conversation, something more like old friends reminiscing than their earlier, heavier topics. and it's nice... being alive but also seeing him again, for more than the short moment that they'd just had )
