( Jack turns and just makes it a real hug. He sees no reason why not. Through his short existence, he has had many ups and downs, and suffering mixed in with the good times, but Sam has been a constant. His heart welcomed Jack when he shouldn't have, and Jack knows now the value in that sort of faith. The kind that comes from family, not from belief.

Sam is much taller than Jack, proven by being able to rest his chin on his head, and he embraces him warmly. He also senses that Sam might need it. Jack is still a Winchester where it counts. He looks out for his own, whether they know it or not.)

( He doesn't need to, but he can, and he will. He pulls out of Sam's arms and pats him on the back like he know Dean would if it was the two of them instead.)

I was brought to a castle. I don't like it there. People are very unhappy and scared. I came here as soon as they gave me the pendant, I thought maybe you were here.

( Whether he sensed it on some level or he was only hopeful, it's hard to say given what he is these days, but he wasn't surprised to see Sam.)

I don't think we should attack these vampires. They seem very much like people.
