That's plenty clear by the look on his face, the stubborn set of his jaw; if given his druthers, Boothill would have preferred to just do most of his own maintenance himself. It's less a reflection on Viktor specifically, and more about the general feeling of being under observation, ever since the military pulled him out of that pond. He doesn't like it, being watched when he's not trying to draw attention on purpose.

In one final show of reticence, Boothill casts his gaze up, weighing his chances and coming out with very few options as easy as this one that's come up. Backup plans, left and right, but he's not too stupid to turn down good fortune when the Reignbow drops it in his lap, either. It just grates on him.
