Elizabeth will tell Jesper that part of the reason she remained behind, and why her presence was important to the Fey, is that she has "sealed" the door to Faerie. She says that this is a permanent act, one that requires at least one person to be on the other side. Therefore, the doorway between worlds can no longer be opened. As she could not follow them regardless, but is capable of using Seelie magic, she was able to provide this service for the Vermillion Court. She says that this is different than the summoning spell the territories have been using, which runs the risk of things "spilling through" - which has already been observed not long ago when the rifts appeared.

Since she is only one person, she can't guarantee their safety or offer much by way of resources if they wish to settle here for now, but that she has made contact with both Nocwich and the Nether to see what can be done in the near future if this will be an ongoing situation.

In the meantime, she says there are a few books that the Fey have left behind. Though written in the Seelie language, she can translate some of it if needed, and invites Jesper to bring anything he finds to her that he wishes to learn more about.
