Edelgard hums pleasantly from both the fingers in her hair, and the kiss to her temples. "Your burdens are my burdens, remember, my teacher? We share them together." She replies, closing her eyes, and settling against Byleth, using her old form of address, now a loving pet name. For in many ways Byleth is still and will always be Edelgard's teacher, guiding her to becoming a better person and ruler than she ever could have become without her. "We walk this path together."

For a moment she's quiet, content with this small moment they've managed to snatched together. She already knows there will be precious few of those in the weeks ahead, so she should enjoy this while it lasts.

But then her eyes open an for a moment she looks very seriously at Byleth. "And I will hold you to that." She adds, before giving a small, affectionate laugh.
