So it's not so much that he's been surrounded by so many horrid people or for so much of his life that her barest level of kindness stands out to him, but that he appreciates how natural it feels. That's a huge relief to hear, because her heart was about to break for him. Admittedly it's a little touching to hear.

"Genuine, you say?" She laughs under her breath. "That's the nicest way to say it." Situational context is everything, though, and she could be anything from honest to shocking depending on what she says and who hears it. In return, she gives his hand a squeeze, but not too tight. Her tail wiggles, the only indication of anything less than confidence and relaxed poise. "Good. That way, I can keep them from harming others. Especially those close to me. So keep your eye out, Robin. And I'll keep mine out for you."
