cady heron | mean girls (the musical) | the tower

i. where do you belong?

Chaos? [ cady mumbles timidly, staring down at at the tunic on her slight form. if she felt like a fish out of water before, she certainly feels like one now. castle thorne is nothing like what she has ever experienced. perhaps seen on the occasional movie poster, if anything, but she has been so detatched from popular media that she doesn't even really know what any of these things are like in the hollywood sense. ]

And they were talking about my exploits, whatever that means, [ she adds to absolutely no one as she continues exploring her new ( hopefully temporary ) home. ]

I wish I knew more about tarot – sorry! [ she bursts out, having bumped into another figure as she runs slightly calloused fingertips over the embroidery. ]

ii. whose house is this?

[ after mentally taking note of all that she's seen of the place, cady decides to retreat to her room assignment. whoever is already in the room will see her blonde head peeking from around the door before the rest of her emerges and she lifts her hand in a tiny wave. ]

Yo, uh! Hullo. S-sorry, I think I'm supposed to be rooming here? Unless someone's already taken the other bed, which in that case, I should be going ...

iii. let's do this thing.

[ at the library, cady immediately immerses herself in reading all about the kingdom, even scrawling a few notes for herself hastily in between long periods of flipping quickly through pages.

if anything, learning something makes her feel more at ease than anything else she has seen. history might not be as straightforward as math is, but she can at least find her footing somehow.

she abandons her work at the table for a moment, circling a shelf for a footstool or a ladder, too short to actually pick up the book with the golden lettering that has caught her eye. she tries to find her balance by pressing her hand against a shelf, rising onto her tiptoes and wiggling her fingers to grab it – to no avail.
