He nods his head to her mention of Ambrose, but the latter part throws him off a bit. Dragoons are such a well-known concept in his nation that it's hard to imagine anyone struggling with it - though he supposes that's something he'll have to get used to.
"You're half right," he says, shrugging a shoulder. "A dragoon is a dragon-slaying warrior of Ishgard... or, at least it was." He imagines that dragoons have either retired or found a different purpose, at this point. "We specialize in aerial combat and train in the use of a lance... an advantage which I am also lacking."
He can't fully express how sour he is to have lost his lance - there's such a long story behind it that it isn't worth mentioning.
