► THE LIBRARY ( it's a familiar feeling being in the library even if the place was entirely different. books had a grounding effect on her and with how anxious and uncertain she currently felt it was something that zelda sorely needed. she'd walked into her death acknowledging it, accepting it would happen but that didn't mean that she was entirely okay. add to the fact that this is so far from being the underworld?
she turns first to history, to try and distract her mind, to focus on something else. looking for books relating to the history of thorne zelda pulls a couple out before taking them to a quieter corner. though rather than sitting down to read them she stands in front of the table, one open, starting to flick through the pages. though it seems that she'd forgotten the warning about her magic, finding that none of the information easily comes to her as it would when she usually speed reads. zelda looks at her hands for a moment before turning the book back to the first page and sitting down. guess she's going to have to read it normally.
as the days pass zelda finds herself repeatedly coming back to the library. reading history books slower means she needs to keep reading it, though each day she again attempts to speed read, not having any luck still. from time to time, changing a book or looking for something new, if she seems someone that appears to need help she'll offer to help them, or reach to get a book from a higher shelf for them )
► STUDY HALL ( zelda knows magic, has her own, or at least did before arriving into this world. she's used to being able to cast regardless of the circumstance but however she'd arrived here seemed to have dampened everything. her magic was still there, she could feel it unlike when magic had been turned off which made it more concerning now. it was one reason why she'd gone to the study hall. they were professing to know of magic and whilst zelda likely wouldn't simply open up about it she wanted to see what they knew, what they were capable of.
she lingers more towards the side, watching the mages speaking with others, watching flames appear in hands or water in a bowl be manipulated. small spells, things young magicians know, things she can do. but what she's also studying is how they're casting, trying to determine at least some of their circumstances by observation in order to be able to adjust her own if she needs to.
though zelda knows she's far from alone, trying to keep her observation appearing more casual than really studying them, which is why she ends up asking-- )
Do you suppose they've been studying for long?
► WILDCARD whilst zelda would gravitate more to the library she could be found reading some of the books elsewhere in the castle, attempting to wander and explore the grounds or even poking about at the dungeons for a chat? i'm happy to vibe with anything!
