There was some big war, I guess. The people kept down here are considered a threat, for some reason. I don't understand their criteria for failure or success, or what they've decided is a threat and what isn't. Hardly anyone I've met down here seems threatening. But we're kept in one part of the castle, we aren't exactly free to come and go as we please. There's a library but it's not as helpful as you'd imagine.
