Nadine's renewed confidence gets a smile out of him, and Sunny nods in agreement. It's definitely a good contrast from the uncertainty she'd been wearing when he first approached her. "Yeah."

Nothing is mind-numbingly daunting once you've broken it down to its essentials. He learned that a long time ago. Magic's still new territory to him, but at least it doesn't feel entirely incomprehensible.

That being said, however, a few more seconds of watching has him letting out a low hum in curiosity.

"The scroll doesn't say anything about chanting, does it?" What little he'd let himself read before giving up (the pictures had been enough for him) didn't seem to be long enough for any chants, but he could be wrong. "There might be a book with words we can say."

Sunny thinks of all the speeches he's heard in his life, all the people he's seen moved by them to do unspeakable things, and then turns back to the shelves with a furrowed brow.

"Those can be powerful, too. And some of those apprentices look like they're muttering."
