[As far as dreams go, Anakin’s had worse. Better that it’s him gasping for air than someone he loves. The Force has granted him premonitions before – visions of pain, suffering, and death. But his connection to the Force here feels… faint. Almost smothered.
He doesn’t recognize the sigil on the card laid out before him, nor does he recognize the voice of the robed figure close by. It isn’t until Anakin’s ushered off the slab and into a change of clothes that he realizes this isn’t a dream. After one of the High Mage’s apprentices starts rambling on about some of the Jedi General’s more daring exploits in the Clone Wars, Skywalker finally finds his voice.
Terse, almost dismissive:]
If you know that much, then you must know that the galaxy’s still at war. That there are people back home who are counting on me.
I’m sorry, but I can’t get involved in this. Not when there’s a greater conflict that –
[A greater conflict? Probably not the best choice of words. This may require someone with a bit more diplomacy to help smooth things out, or else Anakin may no longer be considered an honored guest.]
EXPLORING THE CASTLE
[Now that they’ve dispensed with the pleasantries, Anakin elects to explore the grounds of the castle. The sight of the junior mages practicing magic in the Study Hall is almost reminiscent of the younglings back home. For the first time since getting here, you might catch sight of Anakin smirking, thinking back to his own days as a Padawan learner.
The Library might be worth combing through at some point – it may not be the Jedi Archive but anything that could give him more information about this Kingdom could prove beneficial. If you’re just finishing a book – whether you’re closing it or returning it to its shelf – chances are Anakin may ask:]
Anything interesting?
VISITORS
[It’s the stairs to the dungeon that give him pause, though. He’d been brought to this Kingdom without a choice. That there may be others who were brought here with even less choice causes something sour to stir deep within him.
That’s why, at his first opportunity, Anakin journeys down the stairs to visit those imprisoned. If you look especially worse for the wear, he’ll covertly approach the bars, fishing out a bit of bread he’d tucked away in his sleeve and offering it to you.]
Here. I know it isn’t much, but…
