(try not to worry too much, is something that would always fall flat on his ears. he doesn't disregard the request, knows that it's the best for them, knows that as much as he wants to help, he's also aware naib is a capable man by himself. a former mercenary, and there hasn't been a single time he has let the seer down. he'd run across the map to save them, shoulder hits for them, and even when the hunter's eyes glow red, there'd be times where naib would still take a hit to ensure their safety. their wounds may heal once they're out of those hellish matches, but it still hurts, time and time again.
try not to worry too much, and how can eli not? isn't that why he himself shoulders hit for others too, in a different fashion but still causing himself to be hurt? naib's shell shock and eli's taxing aren't too different. they'd die for each other if need be. this here is just the same. he'll give up comfort and warmth for the sake of a companion. )
I wouldn't intrude on your sleeping quarters just to steal your bed. I'm sure we could share it.
( it's a joke, very clearly so, but at least it's a hint that his own mood is a little better. though their circumstances are still unpleasant, there's hope for the future. he'll pledge for naib to be released, and if it doesn't work out, wellโ at least they'll be together in prison. teamwork works better when people are together than separated, after all. )
If I can't get you out for now, let me at least bring you something. I can fetch something from my room, maybe a better blanket? Or ask for food and bring it down for you. I think they also have a library, from the brief tour they've given me, so we can try and look for information together. I'll bring a book or two for you.
( it's a lot to offer, he knows, for a man who would take so little. but it's the least he could do, on the other side of a cell. with the freedom he's given, eli can at least provide for his friend better than the guards do. it hurts far more not to do anything. )
