serpentinthegarden: (Dark ponder)

A few fleeting glances were tossed between the assembled guards but was there really any harm in playing a hand or two with one of the new arrivals? He wasn't trying to leave the castle after all and... he did have a cleric which seemed to place many at ease.

One of the guards finally spoke up while dealing out a hand to those sitting at the table which now also included Molly, "Iron Cross, the final card's wild. Place your bets now and go after Martin. He's the big winner tonight."

Martin was smiled a toothy grin and added his coins to the center pot to start the game while Crowley wandered about the room, taking in each guard's demeanor, the cards in their hand, and tying a few shoelaces together when he could do so without alerting anyone to the trick. With them all sitting it was easy enough to do. It was just a little insurance in case this went pear-shaped.
