Funny thing is, if Amos knew about that assessment, he almost might even agree with it. Almost. There's only so much you can do when you're missing pieces. You can construct crude, new ones, sure. But they won't work like the real thing is supposed to.

There are worse ways to be, though. At least Amos is honest with what he is. He doesn't toy with people. He isn't this.

He tilts his head slightly. Turns, so that he's facing Homelander head on. Brings his arms up above his head, forearms resting against the bars. Looks him directly in the eyes, his own brightening, attentive and eager.

"I think," Amos speaks slowly, making sure every word is heard, "you should hope that I don't get out of here. That our paths don't cross again."

It's not a threat; he doesn't threaten. It's just honest advice. He's probably going to get out at some point; it's not like they're surrounded by vacuum. And when he does. Not sure what options will present themselves, but if he runs into Homelander on a level playing field, then. Yeah. He's done this dance before, he knows how it works. There isn't even anyone to tell him no here.
