There was something in the other's wording-particularly mention of prayers to a full moon- that, while not inherently out of the ordinary to those who might not know what to look or listen for, made Huojin realize he may not be the only non-human entity in the cell. Was that a commonality between people down in these chains? Perhaps they were those deemed monsters by society and needed to be stashed away rather so when they served a purpose they could be utilized?

He didn't dwell on that long as he wasn't ready to deal with that potentially horrifying reality. Instead, he leaned forward the teensiest bit as the man grasped his interest even further.

Most of Huojin's life had been kept in isolation. His people skills were rather rusty. Sure, he could fake what he needed to in the heat of the moment and in short spurts, but after extended periods of time, his resolve crumbled. This man seemed to have a silver tongue and way with words he couldn't help but simply admire. He sat in an almost stunned silence for a moment before shaking his head. "I can barely hold a conversation, much less do that."
