"Belong's a tricky kind of thing," Susan remarks, her words light but her tone soft and serious. Belonging is a heavy thought. Where does a dead girl belong? Certainly not back home, where she can't ever belong again, if she ever did. Not in any kind of heaven, either, not after what she did to poor Dave Hollis. Who's to say a cell isn't right?
She sighs, shaking her head, and focuses back on the woman on the other side of the bars. The question gives her pause, and she worries at her lip for a moment, then shrugs.
"I could tell 'ee 'Barony of Mejis', but that wouldn't mean much, huh? Only it's hard to know what else there is to say, I guess." Her nose wrinkles briefly in thought. "It's... I grew up in a small, out of the way kind of place, so I don't know that I could tell 'ee all that much about the whole world past it. Where I'm from, it's simple enough. Ranches and vaqueros and old biddies who care too much about your business. How about you?"
