Hennessy isn't one to give a softer answer when fuck off is her true sentiment, so Ronan takes that to mean yes, she does want him here. He's kind of her security blanket, so it wouldn't ordinarily be surprising — except for the part where she betrayed him and left him for dead right before they got here, so it doesn't make any sense at all.

There's nowhere to sit on this side of the bars. For now, Ronan leans his back against them and directs his gaze to the ceiling. It's easier when he's not looking at her, when she can't see his face. He doesn't have to keep his features from crumpling if she can't see them.

"I'll be here," he says. Is that even a comfort anymore?
