PRELUDE: FOREIGN GUESTS
Prelude - Foreign Guests
While it's unclear if this is related to the latest incident, it does seem that word of the Summoned have caused some interest in areas beyond the main locales.
On JULY 8, two ambassadors from NOCWICH's divided peninsula, Ikorr and Luna, will make an appearance: a vampire named Celeste and a werewolf named Sten are spotted entering each faction's borders after sundown. They will not be visiting together, instead choosing to schedule their visits so that they never cross each other's paths. Each one will dine with some important officials in the respective factions. Their visit is meant to be a gesture of good faith, as each ambassador is warmly welcomed and will leave with some fine gifts.
The exact nature of their discussion is behind closed doors. However, a few rumors will surface: that the ambassadors are heavily involved in Nocwich's trade economy, that they left carrying a unique portal device tailored to each faction, and that they were particularly interested in discussing the Summoned - especially the idea that some of these strange off-worlders are willing to contribute to the factions that have summoned them, including economically.
The Summoned may also notice a few small additions made to the local eateries, shops, and market stands in every faction. These include:
Further, Ikorr requests samples of blood from the Summoned. This is entirely voluntary! They're simply interested in what new blood is out there and will assure the Summoned that they have no intentions of consuming it...at this time. Anyone who is interested can visit a local medical center or healer, who will draw a small amount of blood and deliver it to Ikorr.

◎ Delicacies of raw meat, safe for humans to consume - similar to tartare
◎ Brewed ales infused with an herb that only grows on Luna
◎ Shadow lanterns, an enchanted lamp that causes the area around a person to fall into darkness rather than being illuminated

As with all interludes and preludes, this is not an active game event! Rather, players can use this backdrop prelude as inspiration and incorporate it into any threads or CR plans they may have. You are free to handwave as much or as little as you want regarding this occurrence. If you'd like, you can use this OOC post to plot with each other.

- What will my characters be told if they ask where the wares are from?
- Shop owners will tell characters upfront that these are from Ikorr and Luna, brought over for the locals and Summoned alike to try - and that the ambassadors seemed especially keen on having the Summoned sample their wares.
- Can characters reach Nocwich by paying for a portal?
- Not at this time. Nocwich remains isolated, unwilling to open its doors too wide to too many people. The appearance of the ambassadors is unprecedented, however, and suggests things may be moving behind the scenes.
- How do the blood wines taste?
- Quite nice! The hint of blood will be present, and those who are familiar with blood will be able to note that although it smells distinctly animal, the taste has been enhanced to align closely with how human blood should taste. Ikorr appears to have developed a way of getting around consuming human blood that's palatable to all of their kind.
- Can the flowers be planted and grown locally?
- Unfortunately, while the flowers will last for some time before wilting, attempting to grow more of these flowers will not work. They are only capable of growing in Nocwich where the absence of sun and light for such an extended period has had an effect on the land itself.
- Will there be an event post for this?
- There will be no event post! Players are welcome to use the details outlined here to flavor interactions in their own personal logs and threads. Our upcoming event will be in August.
