EVENT #9: NOCWICH - WRAP UP

Event #9 - Nocwich (Wrap-Up)

Deep within the bowels of Nocwich, far from the Square and under the shining full moon, a figure stands watching in the shadows. The moonlight catches his pendant: an Arcanum that has not been seen on any of the Summoned. In his hand is a small item that hums with magic, the glow gently fading as the spell completes. The air swirls with a light sparkle of dust. Then he vanishes, unheard and unnoticed by any prying eyes.

Minutes later, the spectral-drawn carriage arrives through the fog, carrying the three chosen delegates. They step out, ready to enter the portals that will take them into their meetings.
Event Outcomes
Based on the Summoned's choices during the ceremony, their decisions have impacted how things unfold for the three delegates, and subsequently, for each faction itself.

For the sake of ease, we have summed up what happened to view at a glance, but more narrative details have been included in the sections following.

Event Outcome Summary
THORNE appears to have either at least two traitors in their midst or else some unsuspecting souls fell victim to another's machinations. Two damaged tarot cards caused the protective spells to backfire at a critical moment, resulting in the below:

  • Grigory Jannus, the Queen's favored assistant mage responsible for aiding Thorne in carrying out its darker impulses, has been found murdered just hours after his return to Castle Thorne.

  • Yennefer of Vengerberg, Thorne's delegate, was attacked by a noxious cloud released from a small crystalline object. While the protective enchantment was able to save her life, it corrupted shortly after, backfiring. Perhaps this could've been prevented if only one or two more did their part? One will never know. Characters will need to speak to Yennefer to learn how she fares in the aftermath.

  • Queen Ellya is greatly angered by both occurrences. Her reaction has been swift, and she has turned her ire on the faction she believes is to blame: the Free Cities.
THE FREE CITIES appears to have the highest number of those who worried the least about the threat, or so it would seem from their inaction. This has resulted in the below:

  • Jaskier, the Free Cities' delegate, was the target of an explosive spell. His life was saved by an interlinked shield released with some seconds to spare. However, gaps in the shield due to a few missing bugs means he may not be protected as well as he should've been. Characters will need to speak to Jaskier to learn how he fares in the aftermath.

  • Sound in logic or not, Queen Ellya has concluded that the level of apathy to protect their own and the presence of an object rather than pure magic used to attack the delegate is enough to implicate the Free Cities. Thorne has retaliated with a meteoric fire strike on Libertas while the Summoned are gathered in Portam Hall for news. The strike sets most of Libertas ablaze.
SOLVUNN appears to have the most who stepped forward as well as a lack of any interference. They even received aid from those of an opposing faction. This has resulted in the below:

  • Himeka Sui, the Solvunn delegate, was the target of an attack that was diffused before it could make itself known. Vines had sprouted to nullify the threat...to a degree. A small remnant of the attack managed to strike through the wall. The integrity of the vines seems to have suffered slightly from an unplanted seed or two. Characters will need to speak to Himeka to learn how she fares in the aftermath.

  • While concerned for their own, the Solvunn Council has divined guidance from the gods and determined that, as all are relatively safe and unharmed, they will not risk entering the conflict brewing between Thorne and the Free Cities. Nonetheless, steps are taken in the following days to increase their wards and other defensive measures.

The Attack
As the delegates step out of their meeting room and exit the building, they might feel a sharp tension in the air. Maybe they have a heightened magical ability, maybe their senses are preternaturally sharp, or maybe it's merely their instincts warning them of danger. Whatever the case, the next few moments are a blur.

Players of the delegates are free to determine the level of injury affecting their character based on the descriptions given below. Characters can also use their own skills and magic to aid themselves on top of the protection granted through the help of the other Summoned. You do not need to thread out these consequences, though we encourage you to do so if you wish.

If you would like your character to escape any real injury altogether, you may transfer any potential consequences onto an unnamed NPC guard who will swoop in to rescue your character and take the damage on the delegate's behalf. This guard will make a proper recovery, so don't worry about them!
Ikorr - Yennefer
While going down the steps of the building, Yennefer will hear a small hiss coming from a pocket, a purse, or within the fabric of her skirts. Before the source can be located, a noxious yellow-green cloud will pour forth from around her. The cloud may sting the eyes, burn the nostrils, or otherwise make breathing difficult. It may even affect the skin, causing a painful red irritation or worse.

Within a minute a protective bubble will form around her, the spell springing up from seemingly nowhere. While it will not heal or reduce the effects of what's already absorbed, it will prevent the poison from attacking her further. The bubble will hold for a time, but in the last few seconds before the cloud outside dissipates, the protective bubble will falter as though the spell has corrupted. It bursts, causing a powerful force that may knock her a few feet backwards - either into the remnants of the noxious cloud or away from it.

Whether she is unconscious, perfectly all right, or somewhere in between, a Nocwich official will hurry over to assist her and bring her to safety. She will be returned home to Castle Thorne, where she will spend some time in the infirmary - anywhere from an overnight stay if she evaded harm to over a week or more if she was injured. Should she sustain the full force of the attack, her injuries are likely to be moderate to fairly major, but not life-threatening. Thorne will also assign her a few guards for the next month or so to ensure her safety.

Within Thorne's walls, a small object will be discovered on her person by an attending mage. The item is made of crystal with some metal, but it's ambiguous in origin: it could either be one of Solvunn's charms or enchanted crystals, or a device from the Free Cities. The damage it sustained makes it impossible to confirm any magical signature or other markers. Despite this, the Queen will take this as yet more proof that the Free Cities made the attack. No one should risk arguing with her, even if they believe otherwise.

Once she is capable, a Thornean official will approach her and interview her about what happened. She can explain as little or as much as she wants, though Thorne appears to have a general idea of what happened.
Luna - Jaskier
While approaching his carriage, Jaskier will hear a small hum of what he may recognize as magic from in front of him or perhaps from the underside of the carriage. Before the source can be located, a sudden powerful blast expands outward that sends him backwards.

Fortunately, a protective dome will form around him, made from a dozen or more mechanical insects that interlink to shield him from the blast. However, there are a few gaps in the shield that, if he can discern so, appears to be a result of some missing devices. This might cause smoke, scorching flames, or shrapnel to strike him through cracks in the shield.

Through the smoke and debris, a Nocwich official will hurry over to assist him and bring him to safety. He will be returned home to Cadens, where he will spend some time in the hospital - anywhere from overnight for observation to a week depending on his injuries. Should he sustain the full brunt of the attack, his injuries are likely to be minor to moderate, but not greatly damaging or life-threatening.

The Free Cities will post guards outside his hospital room and outside his home once he has been released. He will also be offered compensation for damages incurred, including for any loss of personal items or valuables. Once he is capable, an official from Portam Hall will approach him and interview him about what happened. He can explain as little or as much as he wants, though the Free Cities appears to have a general idea of what happened.
Ikorr - Himeka
While about to leave the building, Himeka will feel a slight vibration or disturbance in the air, and the temperature will drop. Before the source can be located, a wall of vines will sprout before her preventing her from exiting through the door.

It will be difficult to see through this thick wall of vines, but she may hear a series of small explosions popping and smell faint magical burning, as though the vine wall is being scorched. Then the wall abruptly collapses, and one final flame erupts before her. Should she be too close to the vines in an attempt to see out of it or break through, she may be scorched or suffer some minor burns.

From inside the hall, a Nocwich official will hurry over to assist her and bring her to safety. She will be returned home to the Primary Settlement, where she will spend some time with the local healer - anywhere from overnight for observation to a few days depending on her injuries. Should she sustain the full force of the remnant attack, her injuries are likely to be relatively minor.

The community in Solvunn will take turns bringing her hot meals, medicine, healing crystals, and anything else she may require. They appear deeply concerned for her well-being and will check on her often. Once she is capable, a member of the Council will approach her and interview her about what happened. She can explain as little or as much as she wants, though Solvunn appears to have a general idea of what happened.
Aftermath and Retaliation
As the Summoned and other guests are ushered through the portals, taking them back home to their factions, rumors continue to grow. Steadily, word becomes more consistent: an attack has indeed struck the delegates as they left their meetings.

Due to the direct involvement of the Summoned, they are asked to gather at short notice in a central location. Here, officials will give formal word as to what has occurred, the details of which will be outlined below under each faction.
Thorne
In Thorne, High Mage Ambrose Rhett has gathered the Summoned into his personal study within Castle Thorne. The air is solemn, and he has sealed the door tightly behind him to avoid unwanted eyes and ears. With him is Jolene Sybell.

As the Summoned made their way through the castle, they may have noticed one of the corridors leading up a set of private stairs is magically warded to visually obscure the area and prevent trespassers. Characters who have the ability to see through illusions may observe blood splattered over the floors, ceiling, and leading up the stairs, as though a body imploded on the spot.

It will quickly become apparent whose blood this belongs to when Ambrose informs the small group that Grigory Jannus was found assassinated, and that the spell meant to protect him and Thorne's delegate failed to work as intended. While Yennefer is alive, Grigory is not so lucky. Additionally, they suspect that at least one or more of the tarot cards was defaced, causing any protective enchantments to falter or even backfire.

At this time, Thorne is not pointing fingers within their ranks (though this may change in the future depending on what secrets between the Summoned make themselves known). They understand that the other factions were present in Nocwich, and could have easily made their play to weaken Thorne. Thorne believes they know who orchestrated the attack: the Free Cities. Marlo has been growing in strength lately and her military has increased its movement. Further, a crystalline object reinforced with metal has been found planted on Yennefer. Ambrose will not make any open claims about its nature - the damage sustained by the object and its appearance makes it impossible to tell if it truly belongs to the Free Cities or Solvunn - but it is more than enough for the Queen to lay blame. Now is not the time to defend the Free Cities in her court unless you're looking to lose your head.

After a long silence and a look exchanged with Jolene, Ambrose will conclude with one more thing: the Queen is furious over Grigory's death. She's ordered everyone present, from the Summoned to the cooks, to the throne room where she wants to address the entire Castle. Once inside the room, the air is dark and oppressive. The absence of the young mage often by her side leaves a noticeably empty space.

Queen Ellya's eyes are dark with rage. While she holds herself rigidly her clenched fists seem to tremble with barely contained emotion. There's a tightness to her drawn face. When she speaks her words are clipped and rise and fall with a seething that is poorly concealed.

"We have been gracious. We have been indulgent. We have maintained civility with the Free Cities and expected the same in return. But we will not stand by and allow this flagrant and clear attack upon Thorne! We will not abide a kingdom with murder in its heart. And make no mistake, murder is precisely what has occurred. Our own devoted, dear Grigory, as loyal and true a son of Thorne as ever there was, senselessly and cruelly struck down in an unprompted, cowardly attack! And had the Free Cities their way, more of my court would have suffered the same fate.

We were willing to live alongside them. But it is clear that their choice to cut themselves off from the natural forces and laws of our world has changed them. They worship their machines and have abandoned the ways of our people. It has made them callous and casual with life. The leaders of these so-called 'Free' Cities are little more than empirical tyrants who wish to see our way of life die entirely. They spurn magic? They believe their filthy machines are somehow greater?

We will prove them wrong. If they wish a war, so be it. But it is a war that they will lose."

As her statement draws to a close, a shimmering spell illuminates the air in front of the crowd, making it appear as though a window into another realm has opened. The image that forms is a bird's eye view from above. What it reveals is all too clear: great flaming meteors that fall from a sky filled with ash and a city ignited beneath. The Summoned in Thorne are unlikely to recognize this area, as they've never been there, but the dusty sand and vast sprawling architecture make it apparent this is the Free Cities. Much of the scene is all fire and blackened smoke, which makes it impossible to tell if it's a portion of the Free Cities or the entire nation.

The Summoned will have to find out on their own. The Queen is in no mood for questions, and the implication is that she wants her people to believe the whole of the Free Cities is aflame.
Free Cities
In the Free Cities, Prime Minister Marlo Reiner has gathered the Summoned into a private assembly hall within Portam Hall. The air is grim, and there are visibly armed soldiers around the building. With her is Aleksander Klingel.

Marlo will waste no time informing the Summoned that the threat on the delegate sent to Luna came to pass, although he has survived the attack thanks to the efforts of those who assisted. She will add that it's possible he may have been better protected if more had stepped forward to do their part, but that the city is grateful for the help they have received in preventing any great tragedies.

"Thanks for coming, everybody. I know it's been a long night. We got real lucky, all our people are safe - or safe enough at least - but things could have been real bad. I want to personally thank everyone who stepped up to help in keeping our delegate safe. We had enough protection to prevent a great tragedy thanks to you - but not quite enough as I'd hoped. It was close. If more of you had stepped up... Well. Either way, the threat has passed and everybody got through it in one piece. So I'm counting that as a victory.

Now..."

Before she can continue, a light tremor shakes the floors and walls. A high-ranked general interrupts Marlo upon which she excuses herself and quickly exits with several guards in tow. Anyone who follows and goes outside will immediately realize what's disrupted the meeting: visible even from as far as Cadens, the sky over Libertas has lit up orange with heavy fire and flame. Thick black smoke fills the clouds. Ash begins to fall, drifting with the wind into Cadens.

The Prime Minister, retaining her composure, tells the Summoned to return home for the night to avoid contributing to any panicked crowds. She promises the army will be dispatched at once to secure Cadens and keep people safe. Those who want to help maintain order can aid the military, as long as they'll follow orders from the commanders in charge. Otherwise, they're asked to stay off the streets until morning.

Moreover, Libertas cannot be accessed, at least not for the next several days. For safety reasons and to ensure the military can go where needed quickly, roads and portals to Libertas are exclusively for military use. Anyone not formally enlisted will be firmly turned away. For the Summoned who are eager to help immediately, they can contribute locally within Cadens until further notice.

A curfew will be established that very night, with citizens ordered to be home by 8 pm each evening for the next 2 weeks unless they have a permit. The Summoned are exempt from curfew by default and may come and go as usual since the Free Cities plans on calling upon their aid in the coming days and weeks. Even so, with the nights empty of life, shops closed early, and the streets now filled with heavily armed soldiers, many might be inclined to stay inside until the curfew lifts in mid-September.
Solvunn
In Solvunn, Council Head Winifred Bordeaux has gathered the Summoned into a secluded clearing hidden within the forests. The air is hushed, and mages bearing protective charms stand in a circle around the area. With her is Rowan March.

Winifred is frank as she begins to speak, stating that connections in Nocwich have informed the Council of the attempted attack on their delegate to Ikorr. Thanks to the Summoned's willing participation in the assigned ritual, they prevented the worst of the attack. A few even managed to draw their neighbors from other factions into assisting. She is pleased by their efforts and believes this signals that the Gods will always step forth to protect their own when deserved.

Before she can continue, an assistant Council member comes forward with urgent news. Winifred and Rowan beg forgiveness of the gathered as they take a moment to receive and review the parchment.

As they discuss, the remaining mages take a moment to thank each of the gathered Summoned and, if allowed, will paint a small rune of good fortune on the back of their left hand. They state that it will prolong the effects of the ritual and bless them in the weeks to come.

After ten or so minutes, Winifred claps her hands three times to draw the attention of those gathered once again.

Her expression is pinched, her brow furrowed, and her expression full of determination. She looks briefly to Rowan, wearing a similar expression, before stepping forward, her fingers laced in front of her.

"We have received word of the terrible events that have plagued both the Free Cities and Thorne through our allies within Nocwich - some of whom you have had the pleasure of meeting before. While we would like to address that the great communes of Solvunn have had nothing to do with the consequences that have befallen the other nations, we are not blind to them. This is a time they must rely heavily upon their own people due to the darkness surrounding the act and their lack of faith in the Gods. We are blessed by citizens and Summoned alike whose faith and attentiveness to our way of life have allowed us to see prosperity we have not been graced with in some time. Grateful are we to the Gods for bringing you to us."

She nods toward Rowan, who steps forward to stand next to Winifred. He clears his throat before speaking.

"The Council has decided that instead of standing by and lettin' their own Summoned suffer for it - with the knowledge that some of 'em may be your own allies, Solvunn will be at the ready to offer what we can as a sign of good faith. May the Gods shine a light on the right path for them."

With the meeting adjourned, the mages bid the Summoned to return to their Settlements and the greater community. As news travels fast in the Commune, the locals will offer prayers and thanks to the Summoned for not only protecting their own, but for showing how adherence to the Gods can keep them safe from conflict. There are murmurs about how Thorne and the Free Cities are prone to needless bloodshed and that it would always come to an eventual head - they simply don't know any better.

At the same time, rumors of the sudden disappearance of the Dastrup family float from the Primary down to the Tertiary Settlement. They were not a prominent family by any means, but it does seem unusual that the entire household would up and leave. Comments express some disappointment, as it was clear communal life was not for them. The family will need to reevaluate their priorities should they decide to return, but in the meantime, it'll be best to avoid speaking of those no longer present.
Gifts from Nocwich
Amid all the chaos, Nocwich has stepped forward to provide a boon to the factions with whom they have newly struck a trade alliance. While Ikorr and Luna refuse to interfere in the brewing conflict, they are willing to proceed with maintaining cordial relations.

Whether the faction has a starting relationship with Ikorr or Luna - and thus, what boon they will receive - depends on who the delegates chose to meet with.
Thorne
Yennefer of Vengerberg met with a representative from IKORR. As a result, the vampires have decided to share a unique sap from a rare flowering tree that grows deep within their territory.

This sap has strong properties for healing and vitality when mixed with blood. Some experimentation regarding what kind of blood and the correct quantities may need to be done first as the vampires will not provide the blood source they typically use (their own). Ikorr has suggested animal blood may suffice to create a moderately powerful potion that can aid in healing or temporarily boost energy levels, including that which affects magical ability.

Ikorr will provide a moderate but steady supply of the sap, so long as their relationship with Thorne remains solid.

LOCAL IMPACT
The Summoned will find the influx of this new sap will slowly change people's everyday lives. In addition to the standard healing and potions made, Thorneans can use the ingredient to formulate potions that can keep stores of food fresher, enhance the hardiness of the Castle's horses, and strengthen their wards. The increase in magical ability reduces the energy and time needed to refresh enchantments that keep the city going.

Ambrose's locked laboratory hall, however, seems to bustle with recent activity. The Queen's throne room has also been in frequent use for secretive meetings, and high-ranking mages are seen descending deep into the Castle's bowels that hold the dungeons and other private cellars. It's impossible to tell what they are doing. None will speak of it to anyone under the Queen's orders.

Characters in Thorne will now have access to a potent alchemy ingredient. They may use this for themselves to heal injuries new and old alike, experiment to create new types of potions, or find cures for what previously could not be treated.

The sap works quickly. Large wounds may heal within hours, while smaller ones may heal within minutes. Characters may be able to cast a few extra spells using this potion before they tire or can cast a larger spell than usual without depleting all their reserves. However, dosages too high in potency or excessive use may cause side effects like headaches, nausea, weakness, or more severe illness. Be sure to monitor your intake!

For anything that will heavily affect the game's setting or other players, please use the Plot Engagement post to discuss the details with us! Otherwise, players are free to take advantage of Thorne's recent gain as they wish, within reason.
Free Cities
Jaskier met with a representative from LUNA. As a result, the werewolves have decided to share a unique metal that can only be mined from deep within a small island by their territory.

Called braerium by the werewolves, this metal is lightweight and absorbs magic with ease. It can withstand extremely high temperatures without melting and is resistant to corrosion, including acid-like substances. However, braerium is brittle which makes it unsuitable for withstanding heavy physical impact. Strengthening it is possible by creating an alloy, although this will increase its density and reduce its magical absorption. Nonetheless, its pure form can still be used to create weapons or tools as it is only brittle when met with brute physical force. Anything of a magical nature will be absorbed into the metal, making it an excellent material for both defensive usages against magic or in creations involving magic, including New Magic.

Luna will provide a moderate but steady supply of the braerium ore, so long as their relationship with the Free Cities remains solid

LOCAL IMPACT
The Summoned will find the influx of braerium ore will slowly change people's everyday lives. In addition to weapons and tools made, jewelry makers offer finer pieces, lightweight crates and containers allow merchants to transport more goods further, and efforts have been undertaken to improve safety in some labs or industrial plants due to the material's potential to contain corrosive substances and shield against dangerous New Magic experiments. Academics and researchers are abuzz with endless possibilities.

Of course, not everything is harmless progress and innovation. The military has wasted no time capitalizing upon this new material. Over the next few months, they will begin to develop and arm their ranks with a variety of experimental prototypes, as well as reinforce their defenses. Supply is limited and they are still studying the material so this is a slow process, but they are taking steps.

Characters in the Free Cities will now have access to a new type of metal. They may make use of the metal themselves or find various crafters throughout the city who are beginning to sell weapons, tools, and innovative equipment using this material...at a higher price point, of course. In addition, braerium can contain more powerful potions, caustic ingredients, and magical spells that might melt or leak through a flimsier material.

Braerium is also better at absorbing magical impact and retaining magic. This means in addition to its natural defensive capabilities against magical spells and attacks, any form of enchantments or other types of magical enhancements will take less effort and last longer, while tools such as foci or staves can channel magic with greater ease. Weapons like swords forged using a strengthened alloy will be similar to steel, but slightly more prone to fracturing with repeated impact. It will retain some of its absorption properties, so those who wish to make use of its magical ability more than its tensile or impact strength may find these weapons or tools appealing.

For anything that will heavily affect the game's setting or other players, please use the Plot Engagement post to discuss the details with us! Otherwise, players are free to take advantage of the Free City's recent advancement as they wish, within reason.

Ikorr will provide a moderate but steady supply of the sap, so long as their relationship with Solvunn remains solid.

LOCAL IMPACT
The Summoned will find the influx of this new sap will slowly change people's everyday lives. In addition to the standard healing and potions made, Solvunnites can use the ingredient to formulate potions that can fertilize crops fields and gardens, keep livestock healthy, and cure common ailments that plague the elderly. Trees and plants attacked by invasive pests can be aided using the sap to help nurture their regrowth.

Higher ranking mages of the Council can also be seen using a concoction of the sap to bless important shrines, after which the alters hum with powerful magic. While it is not spoken of openly, it's possible to assume that they may be using their blood rather than solely animal blood during these offerings.

Characters in Solvunn will now have access to a potent alchemy ingredient. They may use this for themselves to heal injuries new and old alike, experiment to create new potions that lead to better harvests and healthier livestock, or find cures for what previously could not be treated.

Questions and Answers

If after reading these you're still unsure about anything, or your question wasn't covered, please feel free to hit up our Questions thread below!

Is it possible to try and stop the attack?
For this particular attack, it will be too late for the Summoned to intervene. The factions have made up their minds...and they've been looking for a reason for a while.
How can my character help their faction in the aftermath?
Any way they can between medical help, escorting, writing reports, researching, etc. For more specifics, please wait until Quests are released September 5th. Quests and other information related to the event's fallout will be available then, so you'll have more particulars to how your characters can contribute.
My character has unique skills that can really help in Libertas. Can they convince the government to let them in?
The roads will only be closed for a handful of days! Characters in the Free Cities will quickly get the chance to go to Libertas to lend a hand. We'll post all those details on September 5th, so hang tight until then.
Is anything destroyed in Cadens? Are homes and businesses safe?
The military makes its base in Cadens, so Cadens is relatively safe for now. While the destruction may loom too close for comfort, the city itself remains standing.
Will this conflict impact Solvunn in any way?
While Solvunn will not involve itself directly in the conflict, it will have a role to play which will also be revealed shortly!
If all three delegates were attacked to some degree, isn't that a suspicious factor the factions should account for?
Possibly, were the factions willing to communicate. Queen Ellya has taken the murder of her favorite mage (and rumored lover) personally, Libertas is on fire, and it is much too late for any more Peace Summits. Nocwich will not intervene at this time. They are a small nation, and have no interest in conflicts outside their territory.
How expensive are creations using the new substances from Ikorr or Luna? How much of it is available to use?
It will carry a somewhat higher cost. Players can assume there is a moderate supply of it entering the factions. We will not put strict limits on the faction rewards from Nocwich, so just be reasonable with what your character is doing, how much they're obtaining or creating within a certain period, and the benefits they are getting! We intend this to be a useful resource for characters past what they previously could accomplish or acquire on their own, but naturally, it is not meant to unbalance the game nor break the setting. If you're unsure, simply check in with us!
How brittle is "brittle"?
The metal in its pure form would fracture upon heavy impact, which makes it necessary to strengthen it for usage in physical combat or for tools intended to withstand a large amount of physical force or pressure. However, it can be dropped from several feet or rattled around, making it more durable than glass or ceramic.
What does the sap look like?
The sap is dark, similar to molasses and with the typical consistency of a thick syrup. It smells faintly sweet and has a mild flavor that is easy to mask with other ingredients.
How did Grigory Jannus meet his end?
Thorne is investigating, but judging from the amount of blood and other bits splattered, it was not a graceful end. Officials will release a statement within the week.
I was unable to post to the event in time, but I want to handwave my character at the ceremony or backdate a thread. Is this possible given the event outcomes?
While characters who did not post in-game to the event before the event wrapped up will not be able to ICly influence the event outcome, you can still say that they attended the ceremony or backdate into the event! However, they would not have received the assignment package. The character may have arrived too late for the courier to find them, left before the courier arrived, or otherwise were absent when the packages were handed out.
I was unable to get my fortune this time. Will I be able to in the future?
Yes! While this is not yet available, there will be an opportunity for current, new, and incoming characters to receive their first fortune. Characters who already received a fortune can eventually earn another tarot card to get additional readings. More information will be available upcoming.

Hello! I just wanted to clarify. Did Winifred only say what was written? As in do the group in Solvunn even know WHAT she means by terrible events between Free Cities and Thorne? Or is it left to presume their delegates are injured by the attack and nothing is said about the strike of Thorne to Free Cities?

AYO so we know what the bugs did now, but I figured I'd follow up like the ooc plot post comment said! Do those little guys do anything else aside from expand into a shield? Anything noteworthy for the science husbands to discover?

I have a couple of questions, one for each of my dudes!

For Sephiroth: Since he's in the Free Cities military, I assume he'd be deployed to Libertas to aid the citizens there and survey the damage done to the city before other Summoned have access to do so. Would he be able to glean anything about what's happened/learn anything notable by being an earlier arrival than most? How is the military handling this crisis, etc?

For Stephen: Would he be able to take a look at the crystal/metal device found on Yennefer's person for investigation purposes? Canonly, he has magic that can track someone's location by possessing an item of theirs, which might lead to a clue specifically regarding the individual (or group) responsible. If he has to spin it as cementing evidence against the Free Cities in order to do this, he would. Is this a plot point he can pursue (maybe with the help of others), or is this a no-go? If it makes sense to go to the plotting engagement post instead, just let me know and I can shuffle it over.

Thank you for this!

Following up on question #2, can he glean anything from the materials themselves? What the device is composed of on a more basic level? Stephen's had some CR asking if he can learn what the device was made of, and where those materials might be found, as a result.

How quickly after the ceremonies/meetings do the factions start getting their shipments from Nocwich?

How feasible would it be for a character to slip away from the crowd somewhere between Ambrose's study and the throne room? Also, how noticeable would this be?

Thanks for the info, mods! In that case, he'll be arriving fashionably late with guard escort. Can't a guy have a panic attack in peace...

Given Wanda's powers, and limitations provided during canon update, would she be capable of gathering any lingering thoughts/emotions off of Winifred, Rowan, and/or the assistant Council member as they speak to the Solvunn Summoned? Be it anything to put doubt into their words, or to reassure of their truthfulness re: Solvunn not being involved with the attacks on the other delegates, or this 'show of good faith' in wanting to provide aid. Or will they be able to cloak themselves from her lightly poking into their heads?

Hi mods, a few quick questions!

Over the last few months, as discussed here, Tony (and Viktor and Jayce) have been working on a few different models of Sam's wings. Alongside Tony starting to work on his prototypes, Sam has also been learning Wind magic. ( timeline can also be seen here )

Given the previous work and the current state of things in Cadens, we wanted to ask about the potential / the possibility of Sam doing a fly-by/recon mission of sorts to check on Libertas, offer aid, etc.

Some quick notes before questions:
- Sam has extensive experience in flying in recon missions, specifically in war torn countries and cities that have been attacked.
- Sam also has extensive experience where it concerns watching armies respond to such scenarios (aka bombed cities, etc.)
- the first night back, Sam would have been working alongside the armies to help in any way they would let him, with no questions asked (this isn't the first time he's worked with the Cadens military in tense situations, either!)
With these things in mind, I wanted to ask about the potential of Sam taking out the newest prototype of his wings to check on Libertas (before it's open on the 5th). First, if it would even be possible, and second, what he might find if it was possible? He would either be doing a flyby (without landing at all, and with the understanding that this is not at all a stealthy thing and he would probably be noticed/seen by the military) and/or if he did land outside/around/in the city in a purely helpful/nonaggressive/recon capacity, what he might be able to find?

Additionally, would the military see this as a direct defiance or would they let him help/assist their work on the ground? And/or if he only did a fly-by (and did not land) would they attack him in the air?

Thank you so much, mods! c:

Sam would agree to the above, and would approach the military to ask, though he wouldn't be super thrilled about it. It'd very much be with the intent to be able to get to Libertas as soon as possible, so he can go check things out and do a scan of the city/the area/anything else that would look strange in the area. c:

ahh, thank you so much mods! a couple of quick follow-up questions!

- once sam has arrived to this agreement with the military, would he be allowed to use the wings while he is in libertas to help with the efforts, etc.? (aka once the paths have been open and summoned are allowed to go to help) It would be all within approvals / he would be asking before he did anything, but just want to make sure.

- would he be able to take any closer look at the shields while he is in libertas?
