[ She'd been considering taking a break from the rebuilding of Bright Moon, but Adora had thought more along the lines of taking Darla out with Catra to stargaze, maybe take Swifty out.
Not almost drown and then wind up...naked on a different planet. That wasn't the plan, or even close to any plan she's ever had. When she couldn't summon She-Ra, well, that was terrifying. But she's learned that she doesn't always need She-Ra, so after learning what she can and listening to everything that's explained, she's decided to do one of the things she does best: Adapt and survive. ]

[Horses.
Disappointingly, they don't talk. Or fly. Or have wings. Mostly, it's disappointing they aren't magical talking unicorns, but that's fine. Still majestic. She doesn't need lessons, but she's happy to help little kids figure it out, so that's what she's doing until a parent gets a little rude with a kid who doesn't seem to be theirs. Frowning, she makes her way over. ]
Hey!
[ The kids seem to be fine but wow the adults here. The look on her face must be enough to convey that she's angry, because the parent backs off. ]
Yeah! You better...walk away at a brisk pace. Honestly, that was a lot less confrontational than I thought it was gonna be.

[ Adora's been able to feel her magic since she arrived, but only now (after what feels like forever), is she able to use it to become She-Ra. There's an effort to be discreet, but anyone who happens to witness the transformation might feel as though they've looked into a bright light. When their vision clears, an eight-foot woman stands where a typical twenty-year-old once stood. When her sword appears in her hand, she changes it into a cuff to wear on her wrist, and then shows off. Lifting benches full of people, turning her sword into anything and everything called out from the crowd, and letting loose a wave of energy controlled enough to feel like a mild wind, but colorful enough to make anyone nearby temporarily look like they've been dunked in a rainbow. ]
Wanna see it rain sparkles? I learned how especially for my friend Glimmer.
[ She's talking to a younger person, but catches another's eye. ]
Admit it, you kind of wanna see it rain sparkles, too.

[ She-Ra's about had it with the Octopi. This is Mermista's territory, not hers. ]
Okay, I've turned the sword into a net, a bucket, and a tarp and none of those things have worked. How hard can it be to catch a SINGLE octopus!
[ Apparently, it's pretty hard. ]
Okay, we're coming at this the wrong way. Maybe we lure it out. What does an octopus eat and can we get any?
[ She transforms back to Adora because the sword hasn't turned into anything helpful so far. ]
Or we could just pretend like we never got this orb, and let the octopi live their little octopi lives. They didn't ask to be here.

[ Werewolves and vampires. Those are now on the list of creatures she did not know were a thing. No one ever told stories about those, just ghosts and evil princesses. Which, looking back, were absolute garbage propaganda. But in any case, she has no idea if she should be overly alert or if she should just...relax.
Fortunately for Adora, she doesn't need She-Ra's sword to transform, because she can't have it—super strength and other abilities could come in handy at any time, though, she has no idea. Being in a crowd and walking through the square reminds her of home and the first time she ever saw anything close to this. It's the first time she feels homesick, so she throws herself into exploring what she can. With no way to shop just yet, Adora's only browsing for now, keeping an eye on a few things she might want for herself eventually.
As she passes a stall of cloaks, she watches someone try one on and when asked for an opinion, Adora nods approvingly. ]
Yep. That's it, that's the one. I'm pretty positive you'll win the annual Fall Cloak Awards with it.

[ It's dark, and Adora's in pajamas, but she's still exploring because she can't sleep. This isn't like the palace of Bright Moon, all bright and glimmering whites and golds. It isn't cold, exactly, but it isn't as warm and inviting as home, either.
When she turns a corner, Adora's so startled to run into someone that she shouts and startles backward, yelling words in one long sentence. ]
AhhhHHHFORTHEHONOROFGRAYSKULL!
[ Where a gangly woman barely out of her teen years was a second ago, A Valkyrie appears with a sword. She's panting hard and doesn't move because it was a startled reaction, and she seems to sag once she realizes she isn't in danger. ]
You need louder shoes for your own safety, that is a free suggestion from me to you. That was terrifying.
[ Or, maybe she's away from home for the first (second) time, with nothing at all familiar around her, living in a strange old castle, and alone with no friends. Easy to get spooked in those circumstances. ]

[ Please feel free to throw anyone at Adora anywhere in Thorne/exploring the castle/Nocwich. I could've written a billion prompts but had to reel it in. DM me for any plotting; Adora's journal has permissions and other info, but hmu with any questions! ]
