Basically, I’ve got it in my mind that I’d like Wrench to develop some magical abilities related to the idea of social cloaking. Ultimately I'm hoping that through a combination of magical abilities he'll have a better chance of instantly assimilating into groups or situations as a perceived member of the "in-group" by convincing people that he belongs. (Either that he understands and relates to them, or that he's the best suited for a certain task or assignment.) Essentially, I'm hoping to build up an ability for him to be overlooked, as people would be disinclined to question his reason for being in certain spaces.

That’s a much longer-term goal, but I’d basically like to start it off with something equivalent to D&D’s Level 1 charm person spell. At its weakest when he’s just discovering his magical abilities, I’d like it to basically be a ward against some of the inherent suspicion that an average person might feel when crossing paths with a 6’4”, scowling, silent dude. As he’s able to develop his magical capacity more and practice, I’d like it to give the people he interacts with the inherent sense that he’s trustworthy: that they can share things with him and ask things of him and know that he’ll be discreet, and that they can let their guard down around him.
