EVENT #15: THE NETHER - WRAP-UP
Event #15 - The Nether (Wrap-Up)
At the end of the 10-day excursion, the Summoned create a successful curing elixir for the dragons, using a combination of their magical talents, knowledge, and resources gathered and negotiated for. While the dragons are not healed at once and will require treatment in the coming weeks, the prognosis is positive. The eggs are already showing signs of strengthening and the young hatchlings have gained renewed strength.

The Wrap-Up for this event consists of:
◎ Lasting impact on the Nether based on character choices and actions
◎ Impact on the factions following the negotiations
◎ A small gift for each of the Summoned who participated
The Nether
The Summoned's arrival has not only helped their dragons, but they've also left an impact on the land itself - one that might have far-reaching consequences in the future.
◎ Environment
◎ Environment
Although the restored patches in the Ashlands were temporary to begin with, following the dragons' steady recovery, the presence of the Summoned appear to have left a permanent footprint. In Cinder's Core, restored portions of the jungle have remained, granting access to the long-lost kyros fruit. The poisonous brush threatening to push past Featherhive has receded. Meanwhile, Anoix pods rescued from Aetherie have given the Draconae a chance to regrow the plant in Dragon's Glass, hoping to nurture it until the young dragons reach adulthood.◎ Politics
Successful and sympathetic negotiations have led the Nether to consider the Summoned political allies. They remain unwilling to open their doors freely, but in the following weeks, characters may notice a small influx of Draconae into the Free Cities, Thorne (particularly Nott), and Nocwich. The Nether has been granted access to outside resources, portions of the land are recovering, and the dragons are healing. With things looking up, many of the Draconae who were needed at home now feel they can venture out into the world again for longer periods.◎ Appreciation
At the start of November, the Nether will send another letter to each Summoned Conclave. The letter details the dragons' slow but steady recovery, the safety of the hatchlings and eggs, and their people's gratitude. Along with the letter, a gift package containing a variety of glass dragons. The wings are lightly enchanted to move, but otherwise, they're simply nice handcrafted sculptures of baby dragons. There's enough for every Summoned to take one.
The Factions
Faction leaders are gratified to see that the Summoned have successfully earned them valuable resources. Each nation will quickly put to use what they've received.
◎ Thorne
◎ Thorne
In Borrel, Thorne's navy has already started construction using the new materials and blueprints. Since most ships will be docked over the winter, the coming months are an excellent time to begin their work. Due to Solvunn's recent activity, the kingdom wishes to ensure that its shoreline is well-defended. As requested, Thorne will deliver a variety of seeds and saplings to the Nether. The Summoned may help gather and package these items over the next 6 months.◎ Free Cities
Outside Cadens, where farmlands lay between the three cities, work has begun on the volcanic soil received. Experts in agriculture have temporarily relocated out of the city to do their research. An increase in yield will lead to slightly lower food prices for grains and vegetables, though meat and fish remain the same. Over the next 6 months, shipments of barley will be sent to the Nether. The Summoned may help sort and package these items.◎ Solvunn
In Solvunn, the Council has gathered together a group of Elders to examine the newly accessible shrine. Believed to belong to a long-lost God associated with the dragons, the Council is eager to see what secrets the shrine unlocks. Their goal is to bring back the shrine or, if proven impossible, to replicate it in the Settlements. For now, however, they will only be observing and taking notes. As requested, Solvunn will also deliver grains and water to the Nether. The Summoned may help gather and package these resources over the next 6 months.
OOC Notes
November's Interlude will contain important developments, particularly as related to the Free Cities. While this will not be a formal event, what unfolds will have a social and political impact on the setting moving forward.
Please keep an eye out! The interlude will be posted during the first week of November.

Questions and Answers
If after reading these you're still unsure about anything, or your question wasn't covered, please feel free to hit up our Questions thread below!
- Will the NPCs who were part of the event visit any of the factions in the future?
- Possibly! The Nether isn't isolated like the Fey and they're not confined to the night like some of the Nocwich folk. Currently, though, their focus is on restoring the Nether, so they'll remain in the Nether until the situation is stable.
- Will characters know of the permanent impact they have on the Nether's environment?
- Yes. The letter will mention that after the Summoned left, the restored patches haven't faded as expected and appear to be holding steady.
- Can characters in Solvunn visit the dragon shrine?
- Not at this stage! We'll need some time to work out the details, so please keep an eye out in the future. For the meanwhile, the Council is only sending a small group of Elders to the area to take notes.
- Can characters have any of the volcanic soil for personal use?
- Since it's an important resource for the Free Cities, the public will not have access to it unless they're contributing to the research or the Free Cities' agriculture advancement. This may change depending on developments!
- Will characters be able to return to the Nether?
- While we don't have any immediate plans for characters to return, the Nether will continue to be a part of Abraxas and thus may have a reason to open their doors again.

If you'd rather have Claude ask the Cadens government, that's something that he could do as well. Thanks in advance!

Portam Hall will agree when asked. He'll need to fill out a few forms, but since it'll be used for public benefit, they'll approve it for the Red Path restoration project.
