◎ Nocwich is OPEN every first weekend of each month. Characters can get some cross-border CR here. Beyond those 3 days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) and outside of game events, characters from opposing territories will only be able to see each other in the Horizon.

A Look Ahead

The OOC Plotting is scheduled for the 14th of this month, while the IC Event Log is scheduled for the 16th. The event will involve a mysterious crime for characters to solve. In-person cross-border interactions will be possible! The event will be fairly mod-involved, and players will need to interact with a variety of objects and NPCs to resolve the situation.

In-game, the event will take place on the 24th to 25th, so characters will have most of February to themselves before it begins.

There will be no Quests in March.

Okay, in all actuality, I'm a thirtysomething hailing from the Midwestern United States. I've got an 8 - 5 working in state government, and occasionally I find the time to do creative things. Theodore Blackwell | Into the Drowning Deep | Thorne

CHARACTER INFORMATION:
Not so very long ago, Theodore Blackwell was hailed as a "Spartan hero" of protest vessels and sabotage ships. Along with his then-wife, he dedicated his life to causing trouble for whaling ships and working against unsustainable fishing methods to protect marine life. Unfortunately, he was pretty badly injured in the process. Fortunately (???), Imagine Entertainment was there to put him (sort of) right again. After an experimental neurosurgery involving compounds derived from Turritopsis dohrnii, or so-called "immortal jellyfish," they were able to reverse some of the damage that had been done to his spine. And then — as they have done with many others they've provided medical treatment to — they hired him.

Now Theo works as the right-hand man of Imagine's aging CEO. Some of the same people who used to call him hero now call him "corporate shill." To be fair, it's not entirely inaccurate. He mostly does what he's told and acts as the face of the company. Most recently that's meant overseeing the voyage of an enormous research vessel called the Melusine in its effort to prove the existence of mermaids.

And hey, Theo was successful! He's the first person on earth to successfully trap a live siren and live to tell the tale. (Many, many people did not live to tell the tale.) Yay him. Unfortunately, now he's in Thorne so he doesn't get to explore what the outcome of that discovery looks like.

CR YOU WANT:

CR YOU DON'T WANT:
Since Theo here is my second character, I'm going to try to limit the "what the heck am I doing here?" style threads that helped me get acclimated with Wrench. There are some preliminary things I'd love to play out (see below), and I am very not familiar with the inner-workings of Thorne, but the "how did this happen?" and "why did this happen?" are something I'm probably going to breeze past.

PLOTS/THREADS/THEMES YOU'RE INTERESTED IN:

→ One of the first orders of business for Theo is figuring out how he's going to get his hands on the medication he requires to remain mobile and functional without excruciating, debilitating, world-obliterating pain. It's a pretty noxious combination of stuff that may or may not exist in Abraxas: botulinum toxin, sea snake venom, and cone snail venom primarily. (Like I said, noxious!) If those things can be sourced here, fantastic! He'll need someone to fish them up for him, and know how the heck to handle them. If they cannot, he'll need a mage or a scientist or both or a miracle worker to cook something up that'll do the job just as well.

→ I didn't get to play out Wrench's first trip into the Horizon, so I'd love to do so with Theo. Anyone who meets him outside of that trip will probably note that he's extremely restrained — from the way he speaks to the way he carries himself, he seems held pretty tightly. I doubt that will be the case in the Horizon. Expect to see much more of the firey dude who used to spend his mornings surfing in Hawaii and his afternoons screaming at whalers with harpoons.

→ He got his first taste of magic on the TDM, and he'll definitely be interested in more of that stuff. Moreover, he's just recently had his mind blown with the confirmation that sirens actually exist. A creature once thought to be entirely relegated to myth is very, very real and very, very much not how popular culture depicts them. He'd be fascinated to speak to anyone from different sorts of reality where the myths of Earth are actually proven true.

→ If anyone would like to adopt him as a roommate, however temporarily, and show him around the castle, that'd be fun. Including figuring out a wardrobe and understanding when he can and cannot come and go. Theo's gotten to be a clotheshorse since working at Imagine, and he's also pretty used to dictating his own schedule.

→ Whenever Borrel opens again, he'll be in a hurry to get back there. He'll be in a hurry, really, to talk to anyone who's spent a significant amount of time in the open water.

CHARACTER INFORMATION: The nerdiest of nerds! Istredd is a psionic mage from the Witcher world who is a researcher and archaeologist. He has some previous knowledge of the multiverse and conduits/teleportation to other spheres so he is very focused plot-wise on the Singularity and the big picture concerns about how this world impacts others. He's very involved in the magical and theoretical plots of this place, including the gods and such. 

Outside of that, Istredd's a leader-ish person within Thorne as a teacher of magic for newbies, especially other Summoned. He helps throw a Thorne mingle to get newbies used to the Horizon/network/whatever. He is also a beginner's magic teacher for Summoned and young mages. His Horizon is a very cool giant library where people can fill in their own books. If you look at the comments, he has added public information about the game history and details that might be of interest to your character. This is public! So your character can easily find it.

He's an introvert and doesn't feel natural with big social situations and yet he's managed to force himself into it a few times, throwing Horizon meet ups to talk to the others. He's a firm believer that they're all in this together. He is seen constantly with his boyfriend Lucifer, they're a package deal in Thorne.

CR YOU WANT: Anything you want! He can teach you magic, talk about the mysteries of the world, or flail at you about the Singularity. He loves theorizing.

CR YOU DON'T WANT: Nothing I can think of right now!

CHARACTER INFORMATION: Alucard is from 1400s Romania, and arrived in the game having a) lost his mother to witch accusations and being burnt alive b) having committed patricide because his father wanted to destroy the whole country in retaliation for a and c) also having his trust betrayed by intimate partners, nearly dying, and then impaling corpses on the front lawn. Since arriving in Abraxas, he's gotten much better. He is responsible for historic restoration in Cadens' Old Public Hall, having worked with Jaskier on creating a public park, and other sundry events related to the arts. He is currently undertaking a historic restoration of a castle in Aqualia, which he's having a great time with.
CR YOU WANT:

- Other vampires or night world residents are always welcome.
- People to push further exploration be it of the Free Cities, other parts of the world, or a little bit more inward. Al's managed to do a lot of surface level work on his issues so he can function, but it's an ongoing process.
- Further contemplation of religion. Al's been deeply rattled by the cult and is trying to figure out what the role of the gods are here, really.
- Maybe he needs to start poking at the connection between gods and the singularity, if there is one? He tends to avoid the that rock.

- Al is on pause for an investigation into two NPCs, Oliver and Elizabeth, who appeared only once in the early days of the game.

- He's open to stepping into other people's as well!

CHARACTER INFORMATION: Medieval hero-king guy, but with more psychology. Well on his way to being a failed Aragorn. Works as a weapons tutor for the tween children of a low-end aristocrat; hangs out primarily with Mat, Sansa, sometimes Sandor in Nocwich. Morally good, self-sacrificing, and always low-key distressed about the state of the world and human nature. Superficially affable, but hard to get to know on a deeper level. Canon point is the month between 7x02 and 7x03: he is en route to Dragonstone from Winterfell as King in the North.

CR YOU WANT:

- THORNE PEOPLE. I would like him to have at least glancing CR with everyone in the faction. Other factions are cool too!
- CONTINUING CR. I would like to develop more friendships for this character -- he has a few, and he has his sister, but he also has a ton of acquaintances, and I'd like to turn some of those into something deeper. For 1-2 reliable medium/fast taggers, this could also turn into a small plot I've been trying to lay groundwork for.
- MORE CONCRETE MAGIC LEARNING. He goes to class all the time but I honestly have no clue what he's learning. If anyone wants to do some threads with specific content, I'm into that. Jon has a connection to magic in canon (but no powers that he's aware of and understands), so he probably has a little more facility than he would expect; he also is just a very hard worker who likes to do well at things.
- CHARACTERS FROM MORE CONTEMPORARY CANONS WHO WILL INTRODUCE HIM TO MODERN MEDIA IN THE HORIZON. Jon has never seen a movie or heard any kind of pop or rock music (except possibly in one thread almost two years ago, if I squint). He also isn't familiar with basically any common cultural touchstones: as an example, he has never heard of King Arthur or Shakespeare, or the Iliad or the Odyssey, and has heard of things that people from outside of ASOIAF/GoT-world absolutely have not. I don't want to overdo this (Jon Snow vs The Modern World has comedy value, but it's not an unlimited well!), but I do want to have a little fun with it! It also might be a good way to bond with more contemporary characters.
- TEACHING AND ACTIVITIES: he can teach any weapon/skill he knows (swords, shields, archery, spears, possibly horse riding) to anyone he likes from any faction, and he can also teach hunting and fishing. But he also just likes to do those things for fun and to stay in practice: sparring in the training grounds, hunting, fishing, riding, etc. All are good activities for new or deepening CR.
- SOLDIERS, SPIES, FELLOW MEDIEVALS, LEADERS, ACTION GIRLS, PEOPLE BEREAVED BY WAR, PEOPLE BORN IN STIGMATIZED POSITIONS: all are either types Jon likes or has things in common with! MOM TYPES are also great. If your character doesn't fit that list but you're interested, hmu anyway.
- CHARACTERS INTERESTED IN METAPLOT and/or PLOT CONTACTS IN OTHER FACTIONS. Let's get into each other's inboxes to talk about what's going on where we are!
- BOOMERANG TAGGERS. This is a "nice to have" and not a must-have, but it really helps develop CR.

CR YOU DON'T WANT:

- Dedicated life-ruiners of the kind that probably aren't even a factor in this game. I'm talking, like, Joker vs Batman stuff. The occasional low-key negative cr is fine!
- Jon is probably reluctant to mentor teen boys, because the last one ended so badly (kid stabbed him, he executed kid, he will be messed up about this forever). Other kinds of CR with this kind of character are fine, but he probably won't be eager to step into a big brother role for a while, especially since his actual sister is here. If this happens, it will happen very slowly and against Jon's better judgment.

PLOTS/THREADS/THEMES YOU'RE INTERESTED IN:

- Overarching plot
- Magical side
- Political side

I am interested (as a player!) in the overarching plot: it is my motivation for joining any game. Jon would be interested in trying to understand why things are the way they are (example: he'd be interested in stuff related to the Singularity here for the same reason he'd be interested in the Night King, the Three Eyed Raven, and dragons at home, and he'd be interested in politics here for the same reason that he's forced to be interested in whatever Cersei is up to at home)... but he's not hyper-intellectual, so while he's able to keep up, his own groundbreaking observations will be pretty rare. I'd just like him to be more in the loop than he currently is, so I'm especially interested in CR combinations that would help with this. That said, it's not the only kind of CR that interests me!

Viktor is a scientist-slash-genius engineer-slash-BIG NERD. He's spent the last 6-7 years developing magitech with his research partner, which has not necessarily played out as he would have hoped, with much of his work being co-opted by rich people who are only interested in doing rich people things. He comes off as a fussy academic but is actually an agent of chaos who loves to break rules and do weird science and ponder orbs. Despite his general penchant for putting himself in danger by screwing around with unknown forces he does not fully understand and can't control, he is an idealistic, highly principled individual who believes that the purpose of scientific advancement is to improve lives. He’s soft-spoken but quietly ambitious, intellectually curious, and kind of an obsessive workaholic who is preoccupied with legacy.

I have an info and permissions post here and his app is here for further reading. He used to be terminally ill and still thinks about it sometimes so I have an opt out just in case. Comments are screened!

CR YOU WANT:

✷ Science types, baybe. He hangs around the Cadens academies and likes to be in tune with the general scientific goings-on of the city. If you’re an engineer or a mechanic or another scientifically-inclined individual he would like to connect and swap notes! Also, you know, people to do weird magitech experiments with?? Technologically-inclined people to mentor??? He has, like, an undisclosed number of degrees and likes to talk about math and physics and stuff.
✷ BUSINESS RELATIONSHIPS. He wants to connect with people who can do things that he cannot, like go out on dangerous adventures and acquire exciting resources and bring him cool things. IN RETURN: He can fix your shit. He can make you stuff, provided it's not guns! I really want to lean into this now that he has more time/energy for it.
✷ idk. friends. People to get him out of his comfort zone, which is working until 4am and then falling asleep at his desk. He’s fully slipped back into bad habits (not eating or sleeping, working all of the time, etc.) so he needs someone who will tell him to go to bed and/or to stop tampering with the Horrors.

✷ Generally, his work involves faking magic via technological methods so he’s very jazzed about the real thing. He is usually testing projects in the Horizon if you want to stop by and say hi and ask him what the hell he’s doing. Recent work includes an automaton, and he's still working on that with the hope it can replace human laborers in the mines (because that's never ended poorly).
✷ Once upon a time Viktor did some illegal human experimentation on himself to cure his terminal illness. It worked! But it was definitely shady and in the aftermath the government raided his lab and stole all of the stuff he didn’t manage to burn and/or smash. You are welcome to have heard about this if your character pays attention to such things.
✷ Viktor has a business venture for all your "making things" needs. Bring him your terrible napkin scribbles and he will make your dreams a reality. Always love to get him working on projects. Pitch him any and all of your ideas, no matter how stupid.
✷ HELP WANTED!! Viktor cannot manage said business on his own, especially now that it’s expanded to Aquila and probably Libertas soon also. He has his eye on Nocwich too. Do you have a character who needs a JOB? A scientifically-inclined guy who might want to be a workshop assistant? There may be an OPPORTUNITY for YOU.
✷ Viktor is kind of quietly losing it and has some secret designs to puzzle out the Summoning ritual so that he can create the universe that he wants (this is bad of him). I would like him to talk to other people who plan to stay in Abraxas, or desperately want to leave Abraxas, and also maybe anyone who has knowledge of the multiverse. Just think it might be interesting!!!
✷ Despite not wanting to be perceived e is a newly-minted level 8 influence thanks to his various shenanigans and just got awarded an honorary doctorate from the Grand Academy of General Science. He’s getting heckled about it here and having a little workshop mingle and hanging out in Nocwich here if any new friends want to say hi!

CHARACTER INFORMATION: once upon a time, steve harrington was super popular, great with the ladies, and the king of hawkins high. then he found out his town is kind of cursed and has this really weird ‘other world’ that ends up crossing over with his, and nothing was the same. there are monsters, girls with superpowers, a bunch of kids who are the only reason he, or really anyone, is alive, and oh - also he was totally dumped by his gf (who he was def not completely in love with)? needless to say, none of those earlier things apply anymore, and steve is working hard to figure out who he is through all that. at his heart, he’s a good kid who is doing his best and he's had a hell of a reality check (honestly, he feels a little like that reality hasn't stopped checking him for the last three years.) and he may or may not have REALLY great hair.
CR YOU WANT: more friends!!!! also more people to just straight up adopt him. he might be 20 but he is also Just A Guy. just a little guy. in solvunn. which is not made for Little Guys. i would also love for him to flirt around a little, maybe just be a little bit of a loser now that he's not straight up terrified all the time, etc etc etc.

Long story short, he had one really bad week that started with him being wanted for a murder he didn’t commit (the satanic panic of it all) and ended with him getting munched on by some mutant monster-bats. He repeated his senior year twice back home and in game time, he’s 22 years old. He doesn’t like conformity, but he does like D&D and rock music to an obsessive degree. He’s super dramatic and just a little bit nervous. He’s incredibly intense and might look like he’s gonna strangle you if you even try to insult his favorite bands, but he’s a kind-hearted dude who genuinely wants to help and do the right thing and has a serious soft spot for those who “don’t belong”.

CR YOU WANT: I guess it would be best not to start 2024 off with “all”, but genuinely—I’m open to all of it! He’s a friendly guy for the most part, but if your character is a bit of a black sheep? That’s his bread and butter right there, let him collect you. But he's also kind of intense and tbh it might be nice if someone actually found him scary for a bit.

PLOTS/THREADS/THEMES YOU'RE INTERESTED IN:

— ◈ Hunting/exploring. Geralt rides out for 2-3 weeks at a time into the desert to kill things. He's not one to take partners but it can happen if they're both coincidentally out there or if you want to just disrupt his day, go for it. He can also be found just wandering the desert since he doesn't really like being in the big city constantly and prefers to go rock climbing and watch the sunset in silence.

— ◈ Horizon fun times. His Horizon is a big old decrepit fortress/castle, with skeletons and bones buried under the snow. Underneath that is a more pleasant temple. Geralt might not say a lot, but his domain speaks a good bit for him and about his history, so if you want an easy in to get to know him, swing by.

— ◈ Politics! Previously, Geralt preferred not to get involved in the bigger picture. He still doesn't, but he is now no longer so cautious about doing so. Firmly in his fuck around and find out era for the sake of protecting his daughter, Geralt is about 100% more willing to interfere in places where he once might've taken more time to think about it or waited until his hand is forced. He's committed to keeping Ciri safe, along with his family, and believes the Singularity is what's keeping her out of the Wild Hunt's sights. As a result, he's very against destroying it. He's extremely wary of anyone who poses a risk to this world he's made his home in - even if he understands their intentions.

— ◈ Horse girls and/or swords. Geralt is a horse girl through and through. He loves his horse, he talks to his horse. If you, too, love horses or just want someone to show you how to ride/tack up, he's willing. He's less open to training people out the door, but he can be convinced. Sparring is also on the table!

— ◈ Extremely grey morals! Geralt is a monster hunter who's perceived as a monster himself in a war-torn world where people are often the worst monsters. He has his own philosophy on navigating the chaos, and sometimes, what he believes, what he says, what he wants, and what he does can all be contradictory. I'd love for things of this nature to come up.

— ◈ Bonding, especially some brotherly bonds. Geralt's chosen to stay in Abraxas, so he values people important to him a lot. Welcome to the world of The Stand, a miniseries released in 2020 about a global pandemic that kills 99.4% of all human life. Stephen King wrote a book in the 70s and we're all still paying the price. Julie Lawry is a manipulative, social-climbing hayseed from Kansas who is among the .6% of humanity who is inexplicably immune from the superflu. As the sole survivor from her entire podunk town, she spent a month completely alone, then fell prey to a wizard/demon/sex god, went to Las Vegas because of dreams, and now her wardrobe is fabulous. Also she died, but we don't talk about that.

Julie practices wild magic, which she learned by living in Nott for half a year to get a start, then just kept stubbornly practicing via trial and error until she got good at it. Her abilities were sped up by spending excessive amounts of time with the Singularity because ↓

She has a distinctly strong connection to the Singularity and the Horizon -- by which I mean it turns out that she can FUCKING TALK TO IT. As far as she knows, she is the only one who can have an active conversation with it. This has led to her becoming somewhat obsessive and territorial over the Singularity; she spends a lot of time with it, speaking to it and absorbing its magic like nuclear waste. But she loves the Singularity a lot and is fiercely protective of it, both due to her connection and also the fact that she cannot leave Abraxas (since her world is dead), and she fears something bad happening to the world if the Singularity is harmed.

Over the past year, she has been further weakening the mental wall between herself and the Singularity by using her ability to help try and find clues during the kidnapping. It worked, but she does not yet know the cost of doing this. She can also now interact directly with it outside of the Horizon, interaction mostly being her telling her thoughts to it like a really dumb live tweeting session, and its subsequent reactions. Spoiler: It does not really care about most of her petty commentary on other Summoned. It seems to mostly just like her company. Most recently, she made an ill-conceived pilgrimage to the physical Singularity, where she spent two and a half weeks lying comatose in the center of the crater while her consciousness was forced back to the freaky alternate plane she got stuck in last year while the Heralds attacked (?). Sidenote: she is now capable of making portal stones of questionable quality. Possibly also portals (of equally questionable quality) but she's not super keen to try those again.

In the Horizon, she has a nightclub that's open whenever she's there, populated by roughly 100 fake people who live on the dance floor. There is a lot of booze and drugs available, please see the bartender (Steven, a manifestation of the Horizon) or the hostess (Julie, an idiot) if you would like some. She has also recently created a secondary tower that functions as a repository of alternate planes to which she has been exposed via the Horizon/Singularity and its bullshit.

When she's out in the real world, she lives with Nadine Cross in their own home, as well as co-operating their cannabis brand. Julie is much more involved on the recreational and marketing side. Which means she will sell you some drugs if you wanna meet up in Nocwich.

CR YOU WANT: tbh I am wide open. Julie will be the cheery to your grumpy, she can work as both little sister or big sister types, she is happy to encourage all those terrible but mundane ideas of your character (eg, she will give you cocaine but probably not help you commit genocide. Unless you have a really convincing argument). Also she is an incorrigible slut, even if she has fallen into a mostly monogamous situation.

If you want negative CR, she can be kind of a dick, especially to people she doesn't know well or regards as being "beneath" her in some way. But I'm not into CR that's negative purely for the sake of negativity.

PLOTS/THREADS/THEMES YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: Julie is really attached to the Singularity, I cannot overstate this. She is highly suspicious of anyone else she deems "too into" it (as she doesn't think they have a right to be), but if your character is chill and eases into the conversation, she likes to talk about it. She isn't open about what she can do or knows about it, since that could turn her into Abraxas's Most Wanted #1, but she has insights to be gained. If your character is on the level and can build up the trust enough, she might someday let them in on her secret -- but if they choose to dig around on their own instead and manage to work it out, she will be beyond pissed. If your character also has some sort of special connection to it (which she can detect. also go talk to the mods if this is your jam, they will set you up), she is much, much faster to warm up.

Shockingly, Julie probably has the best insight amongst the Free Cities Summoned into the different kinds of magic in Abraxas, if your character is interested in learning about it. She is one of the few left who has lived in more than one faction, and her dominant/preferred form of magic is a rare one on top of that. While she traffics mostly in wild magic, there are certain principles out of academic and new magic that she taught herself (mostly in pursuit of doing incredibly illegal things). High magic is some shit she doesn't want anything to do with, though.

She is soft-spoken and gentle, creating an atmosphere that allows others to trust her, but that doesn't mean that she is meek. The king seems more reasonable than the queen and uses a lot of buzz words that Kyle likes, but he's still a mortal man without divine right behind him and Kyle is pretty lukewarm on nobility (to be fair he's pretty ehhhh on democracy too). He currently works as an official courier for the crown.

He's been seen 'teleporting' but the full extent of his abilities aren't widely known - depending on wards he's able to spy on people from the Gray Space. He's also pretty morally grey, and will compartmentalize to do a murder or other shady things if absolutely necessary. Happy to plot with people, either as a support for any plans or a hinderance!

For better or worse, he finds his life solidly intertwined with that of the Fraser family's, for what first began as a debt of honor to Jamie Fraser eventually blossomed into a friendship and then an unrequited love (on John's part), one that John will never be able to entirely get over. John is raising Jamie's son, who is now also an officer in the English army, while Jamie and Claire find themselves fighting for the "rebel" cause. While he believes strongly in honor and justice, he has himself been a spy for the government, and with his sexuality being punishable by death, he understands that not everything can be so clearly labeled "right" or "wrong".

-MAGIC PEOPLE: John has just acquired a new magical ability recently, being able to summon a magical sword made of light out of thin air whenever he feels alarmed or threatened, but he's still trying to get a handle on controlling this. On top of that, he's learning new defensive magic with the City Guard, so this is an added push for him to really start dipping his toe into figuring out the whole Magic Thing instead of just knowing people can do it but turning a blind eye because those people are not him.
-POLITICS STUFF: I REALLY WANT TO GET HIM MORE INTO THIS I will say a little bit more below but he has just been recruited into the Throne City Guard and I am hoping this will throw him deeper into the politics of the city/Abraxas in general

I'd like for him to be able to Talk About It to someone! He will never not have a huge Jamie Fraser shaped chip on his shoulder BUT he is capable of looking elsewhere, and there are a couple people out there he may have his eye on flirtation-wise...

PLOTS/THREADS/THEMES YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: -THORNE CITY GUARD: I spoke a little bit about this above BUT TO COVER IT HERE John has been recruited and is now a member of the Thorne City Guard which means he now accompanies them on patrols, as well as assists in investigating disputes and complaints and filing reports. He has also begun to learn some basic defensive and offensive combative magic through the apprenticeship he has been set up with within the guard.

I would love to be able to get some mileage out of this! I am going to create some of the fellow guards to submit to the Worldbuilding page I think, but I'd enjoy it if people got to recognize him more from seeing him out and about with the guard as well as recognizing him AS a member of the guard! As the mods have described to me, "The city guard is responsible for peacekeeping and guarding the borders of Castle Thorne. They occasionally make appearances in Nott if any crimes occur that the crown decides requires royal intervention, though this is rare."

CHARACTER INFORMATION:
Claude is a former ruling duke and military commander who comes from the end of the Verdant Wind route of FE3H where the nation he led won the war. Due to time and route differences, he may say something different about Fodlan and what happened there from his castmates. While he's very outwardly friendly or overly casual or irreverent, he keeps most everyone at arm's length and uses that occasionally insincere friendliness as a shield since trust is a major stumbling block for him. He's sharp, observant, and not afraid of taking on any challenges or doing what he believes to be the right thing. Along with that he can also be manipulative, evasive, stubborn, and generally annoying or difficult to deal with when he feels like it. Claude can be won over with puzzles, a board game, and/or a good meal, and though he keeps his own interests in mind, he's loyal to and protective over those important to him.

CR YOU WANT:

● Friends, new and old! He's intentionally difficult to get to know at first, but he'd sure like to learn everything about you you're willing to share. If you also want to improve the world around you or perhaps you did the same back home, that's an instant in with him. Same goes for if someone knows Hilda or Sylvain since he'll be curious to get to know them, too.
● I do love a good found family moment/bonding and Claude is pretty good at picking up on his fellow Summoned who might need someone to lean on. He doesn't mind bothering someone or being persistent in checking up on them. If you also had a pretty rough childhood, that could be a potential topic to have come up (when they get there).
● Research partners! His current interests are mainly botany based, including gardening helpful and potentially dangerous plants. A main goal of his is to support the Free Cities citizens through this somehow with a particular focus on the orphanages. Thanks to Viktor, Claude also currently has some small scale farming things going on up on the roof/terrace of the Femblems' loft for other fellow botany enthusiasts.
● Coworkers! If you need a job, Claude's made friends with/worked for some merchants that I'll someday finally submit NPC info for and he's happy to offer those connections to anyone looking to make some money. He also manages the Aquila operations of Rio Enterprises which is Viktor's business so he can be found roaming around there.
● I'm bad at filling these out with specifics because I want everything so just know I'm always open to plotting stuff as a starting point for something else! That also includes handwaving basic intros to start further in on new CR or deepening existing CR.

CR YOU DON'T WANT:
Nothing comes to mind! Actual romance could be a bit challenging (think a decent slow burn) but definitely isn't out of the question as I enjoy ships and I'm up for it OOC if things lead that way. One time or ongoing hookups, friends with benefits, etc is also all good. Negative stuff is totally cool with me if it develops that way since Claude has his faults, but I'd prefer chatting about it first and checking in to make sure we're on the same page.

● Stuff in the Horizon! Claude has his own domain right next door to Garreg Mach which is Sylvain and Hilda's, and he can be found equally in either place. Do you want to meet a wyvern and/or go for a flying lesson? He can help with that! He also likes to take advantage of being able to do anything and everything in the Horizon which means silly fun is always good. His domain is usually unlocked for anyone to stop by, so say hi to his baby wyvern while you're there!
● Does your character have multiple timelines, universes, etc. and would they like to chat about it? I'm up for including this as a topic inside a thread where something else is going on if it's easier to make it not the main focus.
● Politics! He tried to avoid that for a while in favor of observing closely and recent events have solidified a need for getting involved in his mind. Claude is currently one of the Free Cities representatives for the Summoned Conclave and was mostly open about his past experience from home. However, he's started to think it would be best if the Free Cities had some changes and would like to (quietly) look into that than he's been casually doing.
● This is kinda tied to the above but if you're also deeply suspicious of the Free Cities, Claude would like to chat about that. Maybe do a little light plotting of what could change, how they could change it, or whatever else might come up.
● Claude's also looking to get involved with supporting charities and specifically the orphanages around the Free Cities. She a laid back person who goes with the flow even in some of the most dire situations, rather than plan likes to jump into things head first and see what happens, and generally is keen to be helpful to anyone around her. She sees big cosmic moving quests as important as catching the lost chickens for a local farmer. She can be easily distracted by this things but eagerly wants to explore the world. I like to say she's chaotic good, heavy on the chaotic side and tends to be very blunt despite how overtly friendly she can be. She is a powerful mage in her homeworld who is skilled in both white and black magicks. Fishing and dragon enthusiast. "I'm a healer, but" meme.

CR YOU WANT: Any and all! Himeka is the sort of person who will talk to literally anyone. And everyone tends to start with a +5 friendship bonus with her as well. She's very trusting. But as for specifics...

➤ She has a tendency to adopt/foster wayward teenagers and also promote/encourage both good and bad behaviors in both.

➤ Other magic users or non-humans! Sometimes those go hand-in-hand. But in a world surrounded by Hyurs (default Human from her verse), it is nice to mix it up. She also tends to see monster hunters and adventurers as kindred spirits upon meeting.

He's a man with no plan! Ever! Or rather, he does have plans but his life and/or the Force enjoys throwing him for a loop. Throughout his life he's had to survive and is almost always in fight or flight mode. Everything about Cassian reads survivor; he's a little paranoid and has no qualms about blasting a bitch in the chest if it's called for. That being said Cassian is a bleeding heart and he wants a better future for others even if it means that he won't see it.

His canon point sees him still mourning the loss of his mother, but he's also had the fire under his ass lit so to speak. Enjoy yet another big sad eyed man, Abraxas.

CR YOU WANT:

Cassian is still finding his feet and I'd love to throw him in the deep end. Nothing is off the table! Cassian is a big brother, a son, and a good friend despite his penchant to be a little flighty in the past. He's been rather mistrusting about Castle Thorne and those around him so he's been going by the alias Alyx for the time being (although people have been discovering that's not his name). Ideally more people find out that's not his Actual Name in stupid, silly ways.

I'd love to see him build trust with those around him and create a network of people he can call friends and a found family. I wouldn't say no to a little flirting too, someone come and dig him out of his sad man pit. A mentor-sort would be amazing too without the presence of Luthen here in Abraxas!

He's recently taken up a courier role, joining Kyle's fledging baby mail delivery men and I'd love for him to get to know his co-workers a little more.

Cassian grew up on Ferrix where a lot of the work involved dismantling and salvaging ships and old tech. He knows his way around a couple of blueprints, tools and is a pretty smart guy; given the right tools and time he can probably hack together technology for folks in Thorne (or just be your friendly neighborhood handyman) if need be.

If there are other unsavory sorts kicking around, Cassian's main tricks of the trade was uhh thieving. Stealing. Black market things. We love being thick as thieves around here!!

Since he isn't quite the debonair Captain we knew from Rogue One (yet), I'd love to see where this baby rebel and his strong sense of justice takes him here in Abraxas. He's not quite as hardened and jaded, a little fumbling and learning what it means to be this master spy but he's got enough experience under his belt to make him useful. While I'm open to anything and everything, I'd love to explore:

- Understanding the dynamics between the royal family and the rest of Thorne. He's slowly being drawn to Nott and trying to get himself acquainted with the community there.

- Working with others to better the lives of the Abraxian outside of the castle. He recognizes that the Summoned are put on a pedestal so to speak so he'd be keen to share the wealth (and dismantle the monarchy, wait what??).

- Learning Wild Magic. His recent Horizon gain Tides of Chaos, allows him to turn the tides of a situation once a day. Being in Thorne sort of sets him up for some Wild Magic mischief especially with Nott being so near, but maybe there's more silliness to be had.

- Unlikely friends/connections. I'm a sucker for this mostly because I like getting him into silly situations that he'd normally hate and people that he might not look like he could along with at first glance.

CHARACTER NAME: Koby
CANON: One Piece (specifically the Netflix Live-Action version, but open to animanga canon!)

CHARACTER INFORMATION: Koby is what happens when you take a kid with a very firm black-and-white viewpoint of the world and put him in a jar and shake him around for a while. One Piece world is very (loud gestures), but succinctly: there are pirates, who pirate, and Marines, who enforce order. Koby was a prisoner/captive on a pirate ship for two years, and he was absolutely miserable every second of it, so his one dream was to get free and enlist in the Marines to counteract the violence and cruelty he saw every day. Of course, when that eventually happened, he had to then grapple with the fact that the military is not objectively noble and pure-hearted (gasp), and that helping people within that greater system is much more complicated than he'd anticipated. I play from the LA specifically because Koby's arc is significantly expanded -- he goes from cowering, terrified and always obeying orders to save his own skin, to standing up to his commanding officer (who is basically God) and refusing a direct order because he doesn't believe it's the right thing to do. He's lawful good to a fault, but he's trying very hard to deconstruct his binary view of the world and recognize that there are good pirates and bad Marines and everything in-between. But he's probably going to be annoying and/or cry about it, sorry in advance.
CR YOU WANT: EVERYTHING Koby is the dampest, saddest little meow meow of a guy, and he's definitely going to get his ass kicked if someone isn't looking out for him. Definitely here for mentor figures (always), peers/friends his age (if you like being judged and possibly punched in the face), nefarious types that will get lectured/called out (and possibly punched in the face) and so on~

PLOTS/THREADS/THEMES YOU'RE INTERESTED IN:

To start, I'm definitely interested in someone (maybe multiple someone's) steering Koby away from enlisting -- he's already conflicted about the Marines not being objectively good and noble, so he's prime material for redirecting to less...military pursuits. Ultimately Koby's dream and goal is to help people, and if he can be convinced that joining the army isn't the best way to do that, he will be OUT.

Once that happens, Koby's going to be seeking out multiple other ways to help people out -- he's not a good fighter (yet), but he's stubborn and hard-working and nosy as hell, so if any new arrivals need something, he is On It

Eventually Koby will need to face the fact that there are things here he just doesn't understand -- namely the Horizon and magic and other things like that. He's going to try and ignore it for a while, but eventually he won't have any choice but to deal with it. Definitely here for mentor figures (benevolent or otherwise) who can help him on this weird magical journey -- Koby has a ton of potential, but it's all masked by self-loathing and not trusting his own instincts. It's going to take a lot to dig through that.

Just general settling-in stuff -- Koby is used to sleeping where he can and eating what there is, so self-care isn't going to be very high on the list. He hasn't passed out yet, therefore nothing is wrong! Obvs.

Hey hey, welcome to the game & super glad to have you! I'm Kris, playing the Doctor here, and I was so excited to see you apped! I am canon blind, but have really enjoyed Koby, and their dynamic in the TDM.

Happy to keep their TDM thread as canon if you like (and keep going with it, since it seems close to a wrap potentially!), or just do a new intro, or anything else. The Doctor will definitely steer Koby away from enlisting if he can help it lol, and with Koby also being the helping type, I could see a lot of potential commonalities with them. With their CR being so new, definitely don't want to force them in a specific direction, but the Doctor would be very much the type to take Koby under his wing, so to speak, if things go that way and you wanted to explore that.

CANON: Assassin's Creed

CHARACTER INFORMATION: Altaïr comes from the corner of an alternate-history canon with some interesting wrinkles in how the fiction intersects with the historical record. He is a member of the brotherhood of Assassins, which was a known (if secretive) faction during his era; unlike other AC installments, if you landed in real-world Damascus circa 1191 and asked how to get to the Assassins' fuck-off huge fortress, someone could actually give you directions. (And then ask why the fresh hell you wanted to go there.)

He is freshly from the end of the first Assassin's Creed game, which means he has recently gotten a lot wiser about the meaning of his creed, what his place is in the world, and why you shouldn't be an enormous douchebag just because you're a star athlete. With the enthusiasm of a new convert, he's interested in learning about absolutely everything, so please someone club him in the head so he'll sleep at some point.

Altaïr also has a fun color-coded sixth sense that tells him whether someone is a friend/enemy/etc (NOT whether they are a good/bad person). If you'd like to set a baseline of how your character would appear to him/whether I should OOCly always use/never use/ask before using Eagle Vision on your character, please fill out this handy-dandy permissions post! You can also come back and change it at any time.

CR YOU DON'T WANT: Literally nothing. Probably the only CR that wouldn't initially work as well is CR that's dependent on characters actively pursuing small talk for the sake of winning friends and influencing people, as Altaïr is pretty to-the-point and isn't amazing at chatting just to chat. That said, all he needs is a reason, and I'm happy to come up with one to kickstart a thread, so let's talk!

PLOTS/THREADS/THEMES YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: Building up a more permanent stake/role in the sitting. Altaïr has Big Responsibilities waiting for him back home, he doesn't intend to make a life here, but he's realistic enough to understand he has no say on his presence in this dimension. So...what now? What's his thing, his project? He wants to invest himself in this place while he is here, but what's that gonna be? Ideally he'd want to found a bureau of the Assassins' brotherhood here, but 1) he's pretty paranoid to try doing that solo 2) less ability to influence the world by murder here, so such a brotherhood would lean more toward the Learn About The Creed Power Hour and I'm not sure anyone wants that lmao.

-Info-gathering! This isn't really a defined project, but while Altaïr appreciates that Free Cities leadership has not attempted to conscript the Summoned, he doesn't trust that this will never happen and his default state is suspicion.

-Money! Dude is not materialistic but he's pragmatic enough to understand that he needs some cash to get by. Since he doesn't plan to be a soldier, I'm always up for him doing weird odd jobs. One-offs are fine but ongoing "business" relationships make great CR building.

-Exploration! Oh god he always wants to explore so bad. At his canon point, he just saw a projection of the world-as-a-globe and had his mind opened to just how much there is to learn, so he wants to check out E V E R Y T H I N G in this new environment. Also he has to get informed if he wants to blend in as needed. Dude is a NERD.

-Philosophy! Come talk to Altaïr about how you see the world. Then let him tell you his own thoughts. Do you like Empedocles? (said in the same tone of voice as "do you like anime?") He's not going to start recruiting for the brotherhood of Assassins without any infrastructure backing him up, but he'll absolutely seek to share the guidance of their philosophy.

-Murder! Okay, well, this is not ICly a priority (see above), he is an Assassin but doesn't just kill for the sake of killing. That said, it's what he's good at, and I am down to clown with any such plots that involve these skills.

CHARACTER INFORMATION: Diana is an immortal Amazon from the hidden mythical island of Themyscira. After spending thousands of years preparing to defend mankind in an inevitable and cataclysmic war, a WWI spy crash-landed on the island, told the Amazons about the war, and when nobody else would go with him to fight, Diana ran away with him to go kill Ares, the God of War, who was responsible for starting and perpetuating WWI. After kicking some ass and being a good, soft girl, she learned that she's actually a daughter of Zeus, and has been grappling with her newly-discovered identity.
CR YOU WANT: I am here for any kind of CR! Definitely people who can kind of teach Diana more about people and other worlds in general, people she can spar with or teach combat to, mentorships, people who want to work with her to Do Good Deeds™, people she can hang out with in the Horizon, and anyone who needs a Mom Figure in their life (or just a Diana figure in general). She's currently running security for caravans going between Cadens and Aquila, doing odd jobs for the townsfolk in Cadens, visiting Nocwich on the open weekends, spending a lot of time in Libertas helping with rebuilding/relief efforts and other such efforts in her faction, and drops by the sparring rings fairly often (though not as often as she used to), so she's around a lot.

CHARACTER INFORMATION: Zagreus is the son of Hades and the god of blood, life, and rebirth. He usually spends his time fighting his way out of the Underworld and repeatedly dying, as you do when you are the protagonist of a roguelike game. He is also absolutely unused to being on the surface for longer than a few hours, and is going to be very out of his depth.

CR YOU WANT: I’m up for anything and everything! But Zagreus is very friendly and likes to get to know people, so he’ll be keen to meet others.
