Mod Communications

If you have any questions about the limits or scope of what you can do before you formalize it in an investigation, you can go over the details with us here. You can also submit the suspect to Celeste under the appropriate heading. Submitting the name of the suspect is not required to complete the mystery, but doing so may contribute to whether the suspect is caught or escapes.

Investigations

To leave opportunities for others, please limit the scope of your actions per submission. For example, if you'd like to test a key, you must specify a narrow set of locks in a particular section. Additionally, while there are no strict limits on how many investigations you can be involved in, we do ask that you try to stagger them a little to help us keep pace.

You can investigate something multiple times as long as it makes sense for your character to try again. This includes following up with witnesses if characters learn new information. To investigate, fill out the form, then comment under the item you're investigating.

IC Exchanges

Use this option if you have an interaction you'd like to play out, but setting up a standard IC thread would be impracticable. For example, if your character wants to speak to several people about a piece of evidence, you might want to do an IC exchange. IC exchanges can take place in the real world or the Horizon.

Treat this like an informal IC network thread done in person, where character reactions, snippets of dialogue, and other details can be quickly played out and concluded in-game without committing to a full log thread. Exchanges are game canon, and can count towards Activity Check under the category of a Network thread.

Witness/Scene/Evidence: Questioning Soraya Moran after checking out the vaults
Action: Will and Zagreus would like to clear Soraya as a suspect, especially since she was kind enough to show them the area and answer some questions. They'd ask where she was during the break in, if she noticed anything different recently and if she knew how someone would be able to get their blood registered.

They'd love to clear her if she'd consent to give a sample of her blood.

Soraya was outside the perimeter doing security checks before the event. She wasn't near the Vaults, having left that in the hands of the guards.

How someone could have their blood registered like this is a mystery and is the major puzzle she can't solve. They just don't know.

Soraya is reluctant at first. However, due to the pace of the investigation and because she's been under scrutiny from others, she agrees. She believes this will help move the investigation forward if everyone can trust her.

She will let them collect a sample right then and there. They'll see that she's not a match. Of course, they may still suspect she was involved as an accomplice if they wish, but this serves as definitive proof she isn't the one who handled the object and will clear her name as the thief.

Will and Zagreus will thank her for her efforts and do concur that she does not match the sample and are unlikely to pursue further inquiries with her. They are curious as to who the guards were on duty that night, and who decides their schedule. Was it a scheduled rotation or did someone volunteer?

The rotation was set by Soraya in compliance with requirements from her superiors. She doesn't believe any of her people are involved. A lot of them are young by vampire standards, the equivalent of rookies getting the grunt shifts that senior officers wouldn't want. She doesn't mean to disparage their intellect but this crime seems a bit above their capability.
