Mod Communications
If you have any questions about the limits or scope of what you can do before you formalize it in an investigation, you can go over the details with us here. You can also submit the suspect to Celeste under the appropriate heading. Submitting the name of the suspect is not required to complete the mystery, but doing so may contribute to whether the suspect is caught or escapes.
If you have questions about non-investigative aspects of the event, see the Questions thread on the OOC Plotting Post.

Investigations
To leave opportunities for others, please limit the scope of your actions per submission. For example, if you'd like to test a key, you must specify a narrow set of locks in a particular section. Additionally, while there are no strict limits on how many investigations you can be involved in, we do ask that you try to stagger them a little to help us keep pace.
You can investigate something multiple times as long as it makes sense for your character to try again. This includes following up with witnesses if characters learn new information. To investigate, fill out the form, then comment under the item you're investigating.

IC Exchanges
Use this option if you have an interaction you'd like to play out, but setting up a standard IC thread would be impracticable. For example, if your character wants to speak to several people about a piece of evidence, you might want to do an IC exchange. IC exchanges can take place in the real world or the Horizon.
Treat this like an informal IC network thread done in person, where character reactions, snippets of dialogue, and other details can be quickly played out and concluded in-game without committing to a full log thread. Exchanges are game canon, and can count towards Activity Check under the category of a Network thread.

He will show Alucard a few options, though the first thing he asks is what Alucard can afford. There are some extremely rare herbs that are beyond the common cook, but he's aware some of the Summoned are known to have a bit of wealth themselves.
Being from the Free Cities, Alucard may lie to him about how much money he possesses. Their reputation is as such that the botanist would've heard that Free Cities Summoned in particular like to spend.

His response about spending will be that he's willing to explore the price points so he can have a range of culinary options, adding that even if he can't afford the most expensive of the herbs right now, he'll at least know what to save up for in the future. Buuuut he'll hint he is towards the upper end of spending and shamelessly drop being an in demand architect. Just to get himself to where he needs to be.

Alucard receives a variety of herbs to look at. The botanist only has small amounts on him since he hasn't brought his entire stock to this one night. Most of what he was expecting to sell were flowers, not culinary herbs, though he's quite pleased Alucard's expressed interest.
Sampling each one, Alucard will recognize some. They're used in a variety of foods and wines across Ikorr. Ones that are lower cost will be used more commonly. If Alucard attended the Nightbloom party the summer that Nocwich opened and recalls those flavors, he would be able to place the more expensive herbs, too. These are used in higher end dishes.
The botanist explains he can't sell Alucard any large batches right now, but he's been petitioning the Ikorran Pact to open a stall in Oleuni Square. If he makes it there, or if Ikorr decides to open its doors fully, he would like to see Alucard again.

thanks, belmont hold and your various vampire skulls! In tasting through all of the herbs, ALucard will rattle off what dishes he recalls them being used in, trying to nail down natural pairings such as dairy, certain meats, and so on, asking about substitutions, especially with regards to higher end herbs. He'll admit to having tasted a few tonight that were wholly new.
He'll absolutely understand that the stock is what it is and that there was no reason to anticipate an amateur but enthusiastic cook in this sort of environment. Speaking of Oleuni Square though, he pauses because he's heard that not everyone is quite on board. In doing so, he'll offer an out to the botanist to not be overheard discussing such things on a night of celebration, but admit that he doesn't understand the resistance. If Ikorr is overall closed to outsiders, isn't the chance to trade with the other territories worth it?
If nothing else, he'll offer to keep in touch with the botanist through mail if possible. And to loop in his business partner who is very much a plant person.

He'll likewise acknowledge that he has perhaps monopolized the botanist's time, but that is is so very grateful to have learned even a fraction of Ikorr's rich cultural heritage. As he pays for a few of the samples, he'll include an address card for his and Jaskier's business office, and a note on the back about where he can usually be found when the Square is open. If the botanist is willing to meet up, or just exchange letters, Alucard will readily express his gratitude. He feels like he's made a real connection tonight.

He gives a card in return and will be happy to meet if the opportunity arises.
