Mod Communications

If you have any questions about the limits or scope of what you can do before you formalize it in an investigation, you can go over the details with us here. You can also submit the suspect to Celeste under the appropriate heading. Submitting the name of the suspect is not required to complete the mystery, but doing so may contribute to whether the suspect is caught or escapes.

Investigations

To leave opportunities for others, please limit the scope of your actions per submission. For example, if you'd like to test a key, you must specify a narrow set of locks in a particular section. Additionally, while there are no strict limits on how many investigations you can be involved in, we do ask that you try to stagger them a little to help us keep pace.

You can investigate something multiple times as long as it makes sense for your character to try again. This includes following up with witnesses if characters learn new information. To investigate, fill out the form, then comment under the item you're investigating.

Investigate a witness, scene, or evidence

IC Exchanges

Use this option if you have an interaction you'd like to play out, but setting up a standard IC thread would be impracticable. For example, if your character wants to speak to several people about a piece of evidence, you might want to do an IC exchange. IC exchanges can take place in the real world or the Horizon.

Treat this like an informal IC network thread done in person, where character reactions, snippets of dialogue, and other details can be quickly played out and concluded in-game without committing to a full log thread. Exchanges are game canon, and can count towards Activity Check under the category of a Network thread.

Apparently it's a very fancy and expensive wine, so it might be hard to get. I think if we can get the wine and the blood signature is the same, we'd have a good reason to ask him for a live sample. One that could be backed up by the guards.

Do you mean they'll be able to compare his blood to the blood used to access the Latchkeys?

Yes. We can compare blood, saliva, and hair to the blood signature in the vault. Will and Zagreus already got Soroya to willingly give hers as proof. It's like a DNA test. If we get the wine and it has blood in it and it's positive, we may not be able to prove right then and there it's his, but we could use that as a reason they should insist on asking for his.

[ Thancred has no idea what a DNA test is, but he understands the general idea behind what she's telling him. ]

If the blood could be isolated from the wine, perhaps it could be tested to identify that it's his then, yes. From what I'm hearing, putting vampire blood in wine is highly irregular and revealing that information to the rest of the investigation would certainly raise some eyebrows.

Granted, we'll need to be careful with how we do so, as we also don't want him to make a run for it if he truly is the guilty party.

Yeah it's definitely better if we do this in a subtle way. They all know how to get around here much faster than we do.

The first step will be trying to find another bottle of the Dusk Wine, so I suppose we shouldn't get ahead of ourselves.

I will be thrilled to provide my expertise to the cause. After I take a long swig of it, of course.

Oh? Are you going to see if he'll just gift you a bottle?

Oh, he absolutely will. And has. While I have a full bottle on the way, as promised, I have enough of a sample I think it shall be sufficient for our... collective cause.

Clearly not. That was quite fast, as well. I'm impressed.

I'm assisting Rhy and Alucard with another potential source of the wine, so with any luck, soon enough we'll have what we need to uncover the truth of Marcellus Ver.
