Welcome to our OOC intro and CR meme. We encourage you all to get out there, plot, and introduce yourself!

There is no formal introduction log for characters joining the game. Players are free to introduce their characters however they like.

Since the upcoming event is fairly large, we've provided an EVENT BRAINSTORM section for new arrivals to receive offers from existing players, who can invite them into their AU histories and help establish potential connections.

Only new characters may fill out the form for this section, but anyone can reply with suggestions. We encourage current players to reply with ways new characters can be incorporated into the event!

Important Notices

This month contains some important in-game occurrences. Be sure to review the details below!

IC Items

◎ Beginning APRIL 6, shortly after the new arrivals, the storm worsens. Lightning now strikes the ground, and heavy rains have led to flooding - including in the normally dry and arid Free Cities. Conditions have grown from troublesome to outright dangerous. While the major cities are better protected, the effects can still be felt. There will be a mounting death toll (moderate), and water damage to homes and businesses.

◎ Portals between cities are CLOSED in every territory. Because of the instabilities, portal travel has been shut down. Characters can still travel via horse or wagon, but authorities suggest limiting any long journeys due to dangerous weather conditions.

◎ Nocwich is CLOSED this month. Characters from opposing territories will only be able to see each other in the Horizon, which continue to undergo some disturbances.

OOC Items

◎ The upcoming event requires players to sign up for an assignment. Please read this post for more details. New players are encouraged to participate! Signing up only requires putting down your character's name.

◎ We recognize the next event has a lot of elements to consider, especially for new players. We encourage you to contact us if you're feeling a little lost! The goal for our events is to let players be as creative as possible. If you have an idea but are unsure of how to implement it or what the limits are, we're happy to guide you.

A Look Ahead

The OOC Plotting is scheduled for the 12th of this month, while the IC Event Log is scheduled for the 17th. The event will involve a glimpse into the future and will go until May 10.

We have some climatic plots planned into summer due to the domino effect that began with Event #17. However, to make sure characters (and players) have some room to breathe, May will be a quiet month with pieces moving in the background before things pick up once more in June.

Ooh. Can't do much planning with Gale outside of the AU since opposite territories but -- especially in the earlier days when Teddy is not like, completely nature elemental -- his knowledge-obsessed vibe totally works with their academic side. "All things can be Questioned and All Questions must be answered" is ...yep.

Also I feel like Teddy's experience with hallucinations and distortions via a life full of focal seizures would make her kind of unimpressed with his illusions, which could be a point of conflict or could just be funny. Like, give me some good shit to research/help you research. Slash, I have some conspiracies, you want? If not I'm here to pet your cat. HI YOU'RE A KITTY!

(The animal loving side is also appealing.)

They'd be friends with regular Gale too, for similar reasons, but given the total impossibility of meeting up it seems legitimately easier to establish CR via 800-year-godhood and then wake up like "wait who are these people".

[As a total side note, I played a character in Monster of the Week who was a Hex (basically, a self-taught magic user who has gone about it via unorthodox methods, leaving them super chaotic) whose Temptation was Forbidden Knowledge, and it's actually incredibly easy after a while to have characters that are otherwise good, caring, etc justify going after it, *especially* if they're obsessive learners -- so if you want any anecdotes...I can definitely ramble about Pen and his methods.]

Excellent! Yes, we'll see what the fallout of the event is and go from there. At the very least he's welcome to use the treehouse that she, Wanda, Rocket (and now Nebula??) have by the lakes. It's not the same as the ocean but decent fishing?

Thank you so much!! I'm sorry my reply is so much later! Himeka is awesome looking, I've been poking around her info and she seems incredibly cool. (The only FF version I've played is XV: Roadtrip Simulator, lol, and I adore those boys but I feel like it left out a ton of kinds of beings that the other games are full of, haha.

Also, the not-human thing, while it will give Teddy a moment of blinkblinkblink, is not really any weirder than being pulled through a magical portal into another dimension, so. Y'know. Probably Teddy will just have to stop themself from being like you're so PRETTY out loud. Pfft.

Aaah *claps hands in delight* That is AWESOME and I am down, and Teddy absolutely will be. In the TDM the god she was most drawn to was Vimorskas as well! Mushrooms for the mushroom god XD

Also, Teddy is an academic, but is very judgy of people who use that as a way to judge or be pedantic towards those with less formal schooling; they've seen that enough in the way people talk about where they're from or judge their intelligence based on their accent. He'll be just as thrilled to listen to stories and collect knowledge, and will totally get someone who wants to do the same, especially since they're from different universes.

Hello! Thank you so much and sorry I'm replying so late at night!

Ooh I love Star Wars as an extended universe but I'm very unfamiliar with the extent of it, if that makes sense, so I don't know Merrin, but she sounds really fascinating.

And I love the Doctor, especially Eleven, but I am never opposed to hearing someone describe him because it's always different and it's almost always correct (alien weirdo noodle man is pretty on the nose). Also his AU info made my chest hurt because it's simultaneously so Eleven, and The Doctor, but also like...very specific as well.

I would love to handwave CR! I posted a bit more about what I'm thinking about for Teddy over here until I can get a page up, but honestly, it's 8 centuries, lol, I think there's enough time for the entire game to befriend, date, break up, battle, rebefriend and possibly fall out of touch 😂

I feel like the Doctor and Teddy would get along just because they're both hopeful, insightful, everyone-is-important types (who are nevertheless prone to darker more jaded/depressive or vengeful moments)? I think in the AU verse, although he's kind of detached, there's some opportunity for either Teddy befriending him earlier on because they both just love to know things and like people and people doing good things for each other and helping their worlds...and then stubbornly occasionally trying to ground him as he becomes more isolated -- whether or not it actually works would be totally up to you (and also other CR that may be more important to him). I can't tell if this would be more from an indignant HEY. PEOPLE NEED YOU. or a heyyyy bud you're getting a little uh. galactic time span up there. [the sentient grove of trees murmured] or, y'know, both.

I don't know if that's a lot too fast? Again with the AU/800 years thing, haha, but I'm totally spitballing. Let me know if you have ideas!

It's super late and I'm canonblind for Merrin, so I'm low on starter ideas there but again: feel free to pitch me almost anything! I'll mull, I'm excited for this event :D

Hello! I've been enjoying our thread on the TDM - let me know if you'd like to make it game canon, or start afresh!

Also hey, here's Zagreus from the Greek pantheon, I'm sure he can help add to the 'wtf the gods are real' reaction once that comes up!

Also there could be some potentially interesting interactions in that Zagreus is also interested in learning more about nature - in his case because he spent most of his life in the Underworld and therefore has seen very little of it. He has some Very Big knowledge gaps haha

I'd definitely be down for this! Interest in The Singularity/Summoning ritual would definitely be a vibe for Gale. If it's an all powerful magic thing, Viktor, that connects all their worlds SURELY THEY CAN USE IT anyone who says no is a killjoy and not a real friend!

I'm chill with motivation! Gale does this stuff canonly so it's not really a leap, my 'decide' bullet points are just me literally trying to decide which I vibe more as a choice! Whiiiich may come down to some more event detail.

That said, Gale would always be down for friends! Especially cat friendly people interested in research! The question I guess really is if Teddy gets to know him pre or post Depression Tower and maybe what the specific hook is -- like is there a specific thing Teddy is interested in him helping with or is it just nosiness? If just nosiness you could go for the Tower itself being the original source of nosiness, since it's radiating bad vibes and doing bad things to the area, then maybe have Teddy pick up him/the Tower as a project tbh.

100% yes, I can see them easily becoming friends and sort of checking in with one another now and then, to keep a pulse on what's happening in the forests and such.

In general, Aloy inspires Claire; she's an outdoor person and has lived/survived by roughing it in sometimes harsh conditions, and while she's capable, she's not as deeply knowledgeable. So yeah, Aloy, Claire kind of fangirls you, lowkey.

I absolutely love everything you've come up with for Nebula; their powers sort of fit nicely together too, that's amazing. Maybe we could combo them up somehow, with Claire able to actively heal and Nebula doing the time rewinding...it feels like there's something there, possibly!

If they figured out they were stronger together for specific things, that could totally make them closer as they team up over the centuries.

THEY SHOULD... would Aloy want to help organize the memorial ceremony? Once we have full deets on how it goes down, Wanda and Rocket will also be setting one up. We were thinking of doing one in Solvunn and in the Horizon for his cross-canon CR.

Even with that, Himeka is a god who likes to travel and wander so I imagine she and Aloy could have crossed paths often enough or even adventured?

But yes, absolutely. Given her importance to John, Geralt would definitely keep an eye on her. I do have Geralt's AU write up here and I love that they have a bit of a matching thing going on between the White Witch and White Wolf haha.

I'm open to a casual over-the-centuries checking in on each other or if you wanted to tangle them up further with some memory/time stuff!

Oh man, I love OFMD and Ed so much. That will definitely be a friendship in regular game if not both (and por que no los dos?). I feel like Teddy has enough Jim energy (genderqueer, fond of knives, definitely the tiny big spoon/jetpack :P) to feel a little familiar, yeah. They're very willing to be an extra pair of hands to get jobs done if he needs help with the inn.

Also I'm so pleased that he's going to be a kraken. When I saw his Blessing/Affliction (I've been making my way snooping around on everyone else's lol) I was simultaneously like yes. this. and oh but the affliction should be Kraken and him ACTUALLY BEING the Kraken is such a good move.

Geralt! I ...have not watched/played/read The Witcher somehow but so many of my friends love the franchise (including a very dear friend who passed away -- sorry to overdisclose at you immediately, geesh: just sentimental). I feel like I could do one of those Things I Know About Geralt tumblr posts and be like, 70% accurate and at least funny for the rest of it?

I love having more people around Teddy who Get loving nature -- especially mountains -- and being self-sufficient to more or less degree (Teddy is obviously less so than Geralt! but also, would be happy to learn more; also, they're very used to people who are kinda stoic and gruff on the outside with a soft center, especially guys, so that won't phase them).

Thank you for the warnings! Teddy's are on (bottom center) of their slightly weirdly laid out permissions page, speaking of which; I'm making a new Abraxas-centric info that'll have them too. I love his AU info -- I did read all of it (literally there is nothing so tl that I dr :P) and actually, I feel like it works really well with the stuff I'm spitballing about Teddy's? (also gonna put that on a cooler layout soon)

If you wanted to play with that in a foresty sense and kinda kickstart their CR I'd be super down! <3 I'm multitasking (I meant to hit send on this yesterday!) so I'm not thinking much past "hmmm forest" but very into all of this.

Re: Jesper Fahey | Free Cities

Aaah Jesper! I love him so much. (I love most things Bardugo, but Jesper has always been a favorite.) Obviously Teddy is unlikely to meet him in the Free Cities at the moment but I am delighted?? at him becoming the god of love (of all kinds) who just looks like the perfect hottie constantly.

Teddy is also someone who will flirt in a jokingly "...unless?" manner and I think it'd be funny if at some point either in the AU or later on in the game they realize they're both doing the thing. Teds is one of the first characters I've had in a long time who is not just not demi but also entirely cool with pretty much any configuration of relationship as long as everyone's intent is clear and it's chill, consenting and communicative? (Like. Obviously things get complicated sometimes, but they're less complicated when you bring things up!) So there's every possibility for fun as godlings.

Also though, Jesper's event ability to inspire peace and communication knits in really well with Teddy's blessing of community and harmony, so they could be friends and work together in the AU in a not flirty way (or both: both is good too!).

(I've got Teddy AU ideas spitballing over here until I get layouts up - if there's anything that catches your eye, lmk! I'm commenting in between work so I'll mull too.)
