Oh man, I somehow had skipped some of the first posts in an overwhelmed opening-everyone's links cascade and aah TEARS over soft Nebula and her then having to re-live all the shit she's been through.
I really love the idea of her and Teddy getting to jumpstart right past "getting to know you" (especially because holy shit, someone from Solvunn! which will be nice when Teddy wakes up after 800 years and realizes a good portion of the people they got to be close to are inaccessible except maaaybe via Horizon which they've never done in "the real world"). I think they'd get along anyway, but man, why not use the opportunity! They're both similar in a lot of ways: Teddy's also very much into doing the Right thing, especially for those who are oppressed, and aren't as concerned about it being the pleasant, easy, or legal thing (tho they're probably much shier about that part than Nebula, at least in real time), or even the thing they can ever see finished (two Death cards, high five!). They're also very much about getting their hands in the dirt and doing the work themselves (lol one of the few tattoos I know for sure Teddy and their PB share are Julien's HARD WORK knuckle tattoos).
I think agreeing on foundational stuff like that would innately draw them together; but also as GODS they overlap in ways that could be useful. Teddy's whole thing in the AU is very much about restoring, balancing and protecting community/harmony, but they especially tend to favor those who start out disadvantaged (and, you know, sometimes crack and get hostile at those taking advantage or destroying things). That's a thing that having someone who can literally do a save restore would be super helpful with! And I'm sure they could do some kinds of growth and life stuff that aren't Nebula's particular talents but could work toward her goals.

I'm super open to them having a relationship of whatever kind, I love the idea of them starting as friends/collaborators in the Solvunn area and it growing into -- whatever: (exactly what it is?, romantic friendship or queerplatonic squish thing that isn't physical but is perfectly suited to HELLO, PEOPLE LOVE YOU? friends who kiss? shipmates? [i just heard that today for nb partners and i love it. though it's funny to use with someone who...has. actual shipmates]. or oppositely, siblingy in a way that sucks less than Gamora? Totally up to you.
(Teds is absolutely fine, hypothetically, with a raccoon being more important than them. Teddy would be fine if it was just a regular raccoon, too: you gotta cede space to the beings that came first. But Rocket is also a little different.)
