I'd be up for a 'better the devil you know' conversation! It's almost certainly not going to convince Emet to stay given that I've got other plans for him already and he's new enough that he doesn't really know Thorne all that well either.

Since Emet is also pretty noticeable, he's free to have noticed him lurking around at the info swap - while he wouldn't have offered a whole lot about his own abilities, it wouldn't be to hard to notice he spoke up most in regards to magic and related.
