EVENT #3 OOC POST
EVENT #3/JAILBREAK OOC PLOTTING
As of this thread, Relena has been returned to the dungeons to reunite with the other prisoners! However, she will have little time to do so, because immediately following her return, JAILBREAK WILL COMMENCE.
Things to note:
Things to note:
- There will be no NPC interaction with Ambrose, Oliver or Elizabeth. Ambrose is frozen and cannot speak. Oliver and Elizabeth are enemies of Thorne who only wished to open the portals. As of the end of the post, they have left and will not return for the time being.
- Everyone's powers have been restored, but powers cannot be used to force other characters to stay in Thorne or make a different decision. IC, this is due to the massive amounts of magic currently in use. Characters have to use their words to figure out where they're going to go and convince their friends to join them.
- When the hour is up, the portals will close and the natives will be unfrozen. If your character is still in Thorne at that time, then they are stuck in Thorne.
- The three cities do not like each other, and your characters will not be able to travel between cities yet. However, this does not mean that communications between characters who are separated will cease! All characters still have access to the Horizon and may visit each other there. If your character has not yet visited the Horizon, they will first need to join another character who has gone there (via physical contact), and they will then have access to their own Horizon.
- But characters who begin spending too much time in the Horizon may become suspicious to natives, who will worry that secrets are being shared with their enemies!
- Any prisoners who choose to stay in Thorne will be rearrested. Thornean authorities will be treating all characters with great suspicion and distrust, but previously welcomed guests may be able to establish their loyalty via information sharing and acts of service.
- If you would like for your character to remain in Thorne but not be rearrested, they can use this opportunity to flee Thorne proper for the neighboring town of Nott. This will allow them to remain close enough to keep tabs on Thorne while also not being at risk of imprisonment.
- Thornean authorities will not chase escapees. To do so would necessitate sending their armies against those of Solvunn and the Free Cities, and they do not yet see the need for all-out war.
- More information about Solvunn and the Free Cities can be found here, but this is not information that characters will have during their hour of decision-making. Oliver's advice to choose based on each locations' relationship to the Singularity is all they really have to go on.
- Individual posts for Solvunn and the Free Cities will be going up within the next few days. These posts will have more information about each location, as well as the opportunity for NPC interaction in each.
- Please use this post to plot with each other where your characters will go, how they will decide to group together, and how they will attempt to convince each other to stay or leave!

QUESTIONS
Re: QUESTIONS
Edit: Sorry, to tack onto this, but semi-related, is there also a weapon that can be grabbed off the frozen peeps. Like a sword or something.
Thank you!!

Ralston + OC + Thorne
Ralston is going to be making an effort to note who goes where and in what proportion so he has intel to hand the Thorne authorities in his back pocket.
If you want your character to specifically be mentioned if/when he makes his report, please opt in by commenting here. Optional: Let me know if it's cool if we do some handwaved observation of your character so Ralston can provide additional ability specs or opinions (particularly if your character showed up on the information swap mingle log). I'd also be down to backtag these interactions if you're interested—I just know 'guy creeps in the bg' threads aren't necessarily very hook-y.
Otherwise I'll be keeping Ralston's observstions to #s and general impressions that I can scope by skimming the log.
Alternatively, if someone wants to figure out that he's taking a tally and distract him, I'd be down for that too! I still want him to get some info collection done, but I'm fine with making that complicated if someone wants to metaphorically or literally tackle that.
no subject
if you were interested in a little potential cr kickstarted in the background, geralt would notice him tallying and just not do anything about it, but he would certainly remember this if they ever see each other in the future. but i can also just as easily have him not notice if you don't want this!

Alucard / Castlevania / Free Cities
So if you want to just reconnect with CR, needs arguments either way, or want to land on the other side with a sad, depressed sack, let's plot
Relena Peacecraft (Wobbly Edition) | Gundam Wing | Get the Fuck Out of Dodge Quest
She will be heading right to cell 1 as sneakily as possible for a reunion and then flopping onto the floor for a bit until she gets chucked gently into a portal by her best buddies.
She's going to Solvunn with team Himeka after scampering back to her crew. She's got to recover some and I am sure there will be a roundtable of some sort at some point, but for the time being, she'll be happy to share her info with fellow escapees that end up in Solvunn or with folks in the Horizon if they want to come across her and get the tidbits directly?? Hot Tip: Don't become a battery, it's a bad time.
Otherwise, gosh yea she needs a pot of tea, a big bowl of soup and half a bottle of red wine, thanks in advanced.

Also, will Relena be upset if he tries to claw up Ambrose? It won't work but he's sure gonna try.

Estinien Wyrmblood | Final Fantasy XIV | Solvunn
1) He's heading to Solvunn because he thinks it might be the place Anastasia was talking about, and as such feels they may have information about the Singularity and Ambrose's Stupid Book. Also, destroying the Singularity sounds bad right now.
2) With power being suddenly returned, he's going to be sort of overwhelmed by his dragon magic happening all at once, and as a result it's going to activate his new draconic shapeshifting ability. He's going to grow a tail, horns, claws, and some dragon feet, and will find it very startling. This will take a while to wear off because it's partially based on his emotions.
3) He's not really worried about convincing anyone to go anywhere in particular besides Himeka and Relena who he plans to take with him. He'll be taking note of people who decide to say in Thorne though, if it's made at all obvious.
4) He might try to kill Ambrose while he's frozen but give up on that when it becomes clear it isn't possible.
no subject
More importantly, now that I know she's going there for sure, I can absolutely say that she'd openly declare the cell 1 gang going to Solvunn to be a pretty important factor in her decision. The four of them (plus Phoenix) are officially a team now, because she says so.
She's also gonna be pretty jealous of his cool dragon man mode. Like, she's glad she can turn into a bird, but what the heck??? She wants dragon claws!

Link | LoZ: Breath of the Wild | Solvunn probably??
He is convinced that the Singularity is the key to saving Hyrule (somehow??) so he's quite motivated to protect it, but he can't really condone public murders so he'll be easily convinced to go elsewhere, at least for now. I am leaning toward Solvunn because I rather like the drama of a Hero Character like him winding up in neutral territory and chafing against inaction a bit, but Nott is also an option!
HMU for panicked discussions of what to do, boggling at witnessing a public execution, agonizing over ""their duty"" to protect the Singularity, just shoving the tiny elf into a portal, etc.

Hector | Castlevania | Free Cities
-In the Free Cities, he may try to steer his group toward Libertas. It's the place a certain bard might enjoy, and it's closer to the water, and seems pretty irreverent.
-Since magic isn't as big in the Free Cities as in Thorne, Hector may end up supporting himself with actual forging. He can smith mundane things, he just prefers working with magic and corpses.
-Once things settle down, Hector will be in the market for a few things: corpses and a dog (new or gently used). Corpses to forge an assistant or two for day to day work, and a dog because every man needs a dog, he doesn't make the rules.
-For those people who are Solvunning or remaining in Thorne but want CR, feel free to hit Hector up in the Horizon. He generally likes it there and is down to hang out there, public perception be damned.
no subject
Louis on the other hand is going to the Free Cities, and he's in need of someone who can show him how to get into the Horizon and who can forge a proper prosthetic leg for him. He also doesn't believe that anything's free, so he'd be down to work out an arrangement to repay Hector for it.

Ronan Lynch | Thorne
Ronan has two types of magical weapons at his disposal during this fight. The first is his sword, VEXED TO NIGHTMARE, which has a blade made from the sun and pretty much acts like a lightsaber only it's... as bright as the sun, so like, don't look at it directly. The others are his aptly-named mindfuckery orbs, which explode into little puffs of smoke that enchant the target so that they're temporarily stunned and just kind of stand there with a dazed look trying to figure out what they were supposed to be doing. If you need an excuse for why your character didn't intervene or get away with something, you can blame Ronan for doing this to them! Just let me know.
Ronan will eventually be distracted from the fight when he spots Hennessy and chases after her to stop her from leaving Thorne, but I'm not opposed to him suffering some injuries before he gets to that point.

There are reasons Sasarai might not make it (he's new, doesn't fully understand what is happening and is still learning the layout of the area) but if him making it is something you would be interested in let me know.

Nero | Drakengard/Drag-on Dragoon | Solvunn
2. Nero is headed to Solvunn. Just from the little speech given, he isn't sure which country is more likely to be willing and able to destroy the world. Thorne's close, but he already sees that shit's gonna hit the fan there. Thankfully, the two people he most wants to see wreck shit (Estininen and Martin) are choosing to go to Solvunn and that makes him very happy.
3. Anyone wanna tell him how to get to Horizon? He kind of heard about it a lot but thought it was somewhere that Ambrose took them and not somewhere that he could go. He really should have asked follow-up questions but he didn't (rip).
4. Time to make money. He'll probably do it by hiring his services for murder 'cause he isn't really that good at anything else. So, he might try to do something with that, but one will see where that goes.

Roland Deschain / Solvunn
When he fully realises the factional nature of the situation (especially regarding the singularity) he'll actually get on board with it, as he's very pro Leave The Singularity Alone. If anyone's looking for people to yell at about the situation, I'm here for it.
Also if someone going to Solvunn could show a guy into the Horizon that'd be great! Roland is going to (naturally) completely ignore the point of creating his own area and Walk Around Everywhere so if anyone wants an amnesiac gunslinger exploring their space let me know.
Just to note: in the moments before jailbreak he'll have had his guns out, ready to do a heckin' shoot of all the guards to try to free Jon, but luckily he won't have needed to do it. Please feel free to have noticed!

Sasarai | Thorne but kinda sneaky
He would be interested in routinely meeting people who leave at Horizon once he learns to access the place as a way of sharing information. He might try to convince people to reach out to him from time to time before they leave. This might mean asking someone untrustworthy but Sasarai is not above finding ways to socially crush anyone trying to make his life difficult. He's a war-time politician, after all; tiny but ruthless.
Obviously, this all means he's keeping a personal tally of who goes where. In all of the chaos he won't be able to keep track of everyone so this tally is opt-in only. Let me know if you want Sasarai to have a general knowledge of where your character went. Keep in mind him knowing might mean someone else in Thorne knowing in the future, depending on how things go in game.

Himeka Sui | Final Fantasy XIV | Solvunn
Which, you know, she's getting all her own mage powers back. Since she's been in prison and malnourished and unpracticed for months I'm definitely not having her be at high capacity to begin with, but Himeka is a skilled healer/white mage amongst her other disciplines so in the hour they have to make their choices she will be very inclined to offer what healing she can to any who need it. This would be more like first aid/vitality boost than anything long term, but it can help especially if you need a jump to get out of dodge!
Once in Solvunn...she is definitely going on fetch quests and she really wants her very own pot and pan. She wants to cook again!
And a bath...and some non-prison clothes. And ale. She would really like a drink after all of this. Maybe not all in that order.
She is also available to help people into Horizon since she's just that kind of person. She may not be the best instructor, but she is keen to help.

Smurf | Louis and Phoenix Wright
He'll try to help anyone he can, but his priority will be minors who look lost or afraid.
Louis has absolutely no stake in this conflict and doesn't really understand the whole Singularity thing (and no one's led him into the Horizon yet), but he knows that he's been lumped in with all the other off-worlders and they're all breaking every law on the books. He thinks it's best to get out of dodge, and will basically take a gamble and go to the Free Cities and see if Thorne's greatest enemy has more information for him to either get back home or build a life here. He'll likely settle in Libertas or Aquila, and he'll likely start gaining influence in its underworld within the week.
On his way out, Louis is on a temporary prosthetic, so he's not exactly good for running. He'll be damned before he asks anyone for help, though, so he's going to hobble as gracefully as he can to the library to pack up a few really good spell books, grab essentials from a few frozen natives (like a bag, cash, and a change of clothes), and then haul out. He's going to get a really cool tech-y prosthetic in the Free Cities later, after he's suitably gathered some clout.

High odds she's going to be very inclined to spending free time in the Horizon, so there's potential for native trouble down the line there.
Default is flying solo as she's not looking to link up with anyone in particular, but if she runs into someone headed the same way who doesn't seem unpleasant she's likely to gravitate despite herself. Safety in numbers, and all.
Hennessy - Thorne (for now)
I'm down for CR with other fleeing folks on the way, and/or people who are eventually getting reimprisoned. She's gonna be mad as hell about all of this, naturally, so if you wanna make friends with someone who will eventually be able to dream neat stuff into existence for you, here's your chance to get on her good side!

dai | sam wilson (free cities) + yennefer of vengerberg (thorne)
SAM will have been at the execution, and at the sudden and immediate Frozone Moment, he's going to be getting Jon off the gallows and out of his bindings/situation with Coraline, and then shepherding Jon right on out of here.
After that, Sam is going to be a very busy bee, with his interactions including, but not limited to: Blanket reminder I am up to thread any of this out OR just handwave that it happens, just let me know either way!
Now as for YENNEFER. Girl's got her powers back and there is no making her do anything. She's going to be heading up with the rest of the Witcher family and making sure they get off through their portals, etc. But she, in the end, will be staying in Thorne/at the castle. And once her family is gone/sent off, she is going to be returning and, probably after showing off with her powers a little, taking the stance of protecting Ambrose/the guards/etc.
She's not going to be doing as much during the hour itself, other than gathering as much information as she can about what happened, how it happened, and taking note of who all is going to Solvunn, especially. When the hour is up, she's going to be reimprisoned without putting up much of a fight at all and then afterwards is going to be leveraging anything and everything she learned to get herself out of those cells.

amos burton | the expanse | solvunn + brad bakshi | mythic quest | thorne
He's been on edge in prison for a while and since returning from the Horizon ready to snap/Fight Everyone, but everyone being frozen is going to take the wind right out of those sails, leaving him with no outlet for his pent-up energy (unless anyone wants to do a PCs throwdown!). He'll also have just enough awareness to recognize that if Solvunn is reclusive and neutral, that might be his best chance to mitigate any damage he's on the verge of doing: in his mind, he needs to be out of sight, out of mind, away from other people/society for the good of everyone, so, reclusive and neutral is probably better for that than a military power.
Also he suddenly has gravity powers he's never had before so I'm sure that'll work out totally fine as a live wire in a highly stressful situation. That said, I don't really have any plans for him during the escape; he's probably just gonna reach the conclusion that Solvunn is for the best for him and go; that said, I'm still down for whatever.
As for actually being in Solvunn, I have no idea if he's going to take to it or not, if he'll be able to handle daily life there or not (especially when dude really needs to get into a good bar fight or whatever first to release some tension). While I still ultimately want him to end up in the Free Cities, I don't want to force it; if he takes to Solvunn then he takes to Solvunn, I guess! Though that sure will be demoralizing if he doesn't, so, kinda hoping for that outcome, but that's probably further down the line.
Brad, meanwhile, is perfectly happy to stay in Thorne. Thorne's awesome, he doesn't know what the rest of your guys' problem is — high fantasy and a public execution? It's all the dorky and also dark shit he's ever wanted. He doesn't mind that he'll be treated with suspicion and distrust; hey, if he were in Thorne's position that's exactly what he'd do, too. That said, he's not exactly going to have a lot to actually... do... during this event, as a regular human who's still pretty new here, so, rip, but hanging out with any other Thorne thots would be great.
Since he's new he's not going to have a whole lot to offer in the way of information, but acts of service, sure, he can do that. It's less about taking Thorne's side in the overall conflict and more that he sees the most opportunity for himself in Thorne and is interested in ascending the ranks. Not for like, usurping or anything. Just, you know, standard power accumulation, but he's cool with saying whatever to help him get there. He might even mean some of it, who knows!
He's still gotta get access to the Horizon at some point if anyone wants to help out there. Also he needs a sword. For reasons.

Homelander // The Boys || Thorne
He will still go to Horizon and make his mark on this tiny part that he's claimed, and wander out to
recruittalk to more people. His powers are back (yay?) but since he can't use them to physically hold back anyone who wants to leave, he might want to talk to the few people he knows before they leave. Or, just stand around to Talk Seriously at people about shunning their responsibilities [Jon can show up here, maybe?]

eddie dean / the dark tower
i'd love to play around with the horizon too; i gotta work a bit on eddie's domain because i hiatused last month but the basic concept is: you know when godzilla is crashing around the city and he's like twice as big as anything else? like that, and you're godzilla. it's a pretty faithful recreation of new york city but on a small scale, so you're sort of walking around looking down at all the buildings. he'll be happy to show folks around, but also miffed that it's so damn small.
(sorry for the edit!) would also love to do something with eddie's horizon power! i wrote it out here, so i'd like for him to start testing it out in solvunn. >:)
i'm gonna tag out for the prison break i think, so if anyone wants eddie for anything specific please lmk!
alina starkov | shadow and bone | the free cities
Anyway she'll probably twist herself into pretzels thinking about how yeah she'd totally be down to destroy the Singularity if it meant the Darkling lost his power. Even if it meant she lost hers too and was stuck here. That's a totally reasonable sacrifice to make that she is 110% definitely super okay with making. For sure. Also uh, and hopefully their universe doesn't get actually get destroyed either she's not gonna think about that.
Anyway, she will also be spending time in her strange sun-fold domain so come get a tan in the Horizon after the jailbreak and maybe incite some cognitive dissonance in Alina by making her thinly argue for the Free Cities since she's already chosen it.
I will probably limit myself on what I take on during the escape from Thorne but if you're really itching for something, let me know!
Ciri | The Witcher | Free Cities
She will be heading to the Free Cities to stick with Geralt and Jaskier, and I'm definitely looking to do open stuff when the location post goes up. If any of her prison acquaintances end up there, I'd love to have them meet up again!
For now, priorities are lying low, recovering from being in jail, getting drunk, giving her fam hugs, and hopefully getting a horse and a sword sometime in the near future. Overall, Ciri feels like destroying the Singularity is probably just as dangerous and bad as trying to use it, but Geralt's convinced her it's best to keep an eye on either spectrum instead of hanging out in neutral ground, and she trusts him.
As a note, Ciri's canon powers are very similar to what the Singularity seems to do (as far as she's aware!), namely travel between dimensions and time. Which means she's convinced that if anyone in Thorne found out, she'd be in big danger, they'd probably try to use her or study her or something so no thanks!! For similar reasons, she's not into the idea of destroying the Singularity. But the most important thing is that she's ICly not telling anyone about what she can do, except for Geralt and Yennefer, and in the meantime will be trying to gather more info on how the Singularity works and trying to figure out how to get her powers back so she can zap her family back to their respective times in witcherworld. It's a complicated life when your mom and dad don't even remember you! :(

However, afterwards:
+ for anyone in the free cities who might have trouble meditating to see their friends, geralt can show them because he's been meditating...most of his life as it is. I'm good with handwaving this as well! Just drop me a line if you wanted to say it's a thing that occurred
+ always up for sparring, especially since geralt is looking to find his groove again. he hasn't gotten to hold his sword in 3 months
+ he's still pretty on edge because of Yennefer remaining behind and other things, so drinking times etc is to be had. Feel free to join him
beyond that, if you're on good terms with geralt, he'll be peeking in on everyone eventually both in and out of the horizon, once he's settled a bit with the fam.
