EVENT #3 OOC POST
EVENT #3/JAILBREAK OOC PLOTTING
As of this thread, Relena has been returned to the dungeons to reunite with the other prisoners! However, she will have little time to do so, because immediately following her return, JAILBREAK WILL COMMENCE.
Things to note:
Things to note:
- There will be no NPC interaction with Ambrose, Oliver or Elizabeth. Ambrose is frozen and cannot speak. Oliver and Elizabeth are enemies of Thorne who only wished to open the portals. As of the end of the post, they have left and will not return for the time being.
- Everyone's powers have been restored, but powers cannot be used to force other characters to stay in Thorne or make a different decision. IC, this is due to the massive amounts of magic currently in use. Characters have to use their words to figure out where they're going to go and convince their friends to join them.
- When the hour is up, the portals will close and the natives will be unfrozen. If your character is still in Thorne at that time, then they are stuck in Thorne.
- The three cities do not like each other, and your characters will not be able to travel between cities yet. However, this does not mean that communications between characters who are separated will cease! All characters still have access to the Horizon and may visit each other there. If your character has not yet visited the Horizon, they will first need to join another character who has gone there (via physical contact), and they will then have access to their own Horizon.
- But characters who begin spending too much time in the Horizon may become suspicious to natives, who will worry that secrets are being shared with their enemies!
- Any prisoners who choose to stay in Thorne will be rearrested. Thornean authorities will be treating all characters with great suspicion and distrust, but previously welcomed guests may be able to establish their loyalty via information sharing and acts of service.
- If you would like for your character to remain in Thorne but not be rearrested, they can use this opportunity to flee Thorne proper for the neighboring town of Nott. This will allow them to remain close enough to keep tabs on Thorne while also not being at risk of imprisonment.
- Thornean authorities will not chase escapees. To do so would necessitate sending their armies against those of Solvunn and the Free Cities, and they do not yet see the need for all-out war.
- More information about Solvunn and the Free Cities can be found here, but this is not information that characters will have during their hour of decision-making. Oliver's advice to choose based on each locations' relationship to the Singularity is all they really have to go on.
- Individual posts for Solvunn and the Free Cities will be going up within the next few days. These posts will have more information about each location, as well as the opportunity for NPC interaction in each.
- Please use this post to plot with each other where your characters will go, how they will decide to group together, and how they will attempt to convince each other to stay or leave!

He's been on edge in prison for a while and since returning from the Horizon ready to snap/Fight Everyone, but everyone being frozen is going to take the wind right out of those sails, leaving him with no outlet for his pent-up energy (unless anyone wants to do a PCs throwdown!). He'll also have just enough awareness to recognize that if Solvunn is reclusive and neutral, that might be his best chance to mitigate any damage he's on the verge of doing: in his mind, he needs to be out of sight, out of mind, away from other people/society for the good of everyone, so, reclusive and neutral is probably better for that than a military power.
Also he suddenly has gravity powers he's never had before so I'm sure that'll work out totally fine as a live wire in a highly stressful situation. That said, I don't really have any plans for him during the escape; he's probably just gonna reach the conclusion that Solvunn is for the best for him and go; that said, I'm still down for whatever.
As for actually being in Solvunn, I have no idea if he's going to take to it or not, if he'll be able to handle daily life there or not (especially when dude really needs to get into a good bar fight or whatever first to release some tension). While I still ultimately want him to end up in the Free Cities, I don't want to force it; if he takes to Solvunn then he takes to Solvunn, I guess! Though that sure will be demoralizing if he doesn't, so, kinda hoping for that outcome, but that's probably further down the line.
Brad, meanwhile, is perfectly happy to stay in Thorne. Thorne's awesome, he doesn't know what the rest of your guys' problem is — high fantasy and a public execution? It's all the dorky and also dark shit he's ever wanted. He doesn't mind that he'll be treated with suspicion and distrust; hey, if he were in Thorne's position that's exactly what he'd do, too. That said, he's not exactly going to have a lot to actually... do... during this event, as a regular human who's still pretty new here, so, rip, but hanging out with any other Thorne thots would be great.
Since he's new he's not going to have a whole lot to offer in the way of information, but acts of service, sure, he can do that. It's less about taking Thorne's side in the overall conflict and more that he sees the most opportunity for himself in Thorne and is interested in ascending the ranks. Not for like, usurping or anything. Just, you know, standard power accumulation, but he's cool with saying whatever to help him get there. He might even mean some of it, who knows!
He's still gotta get access to the Horizon at some point if anyone wants to help out there. Also he needs a sword. For reasons.

I would love for them to have this conversation though!! What a drastic change for the both of them, they should get to deconstruct it, yes please

OK so with Sam disappearing off to the Free Cities Kylo's down one sparring partner. He'll be forlornly swinging his sword about erry morning, and if Brad wants to step up Kylo will gladly buckle some moody swash at him...
Sounds like he and Kylo are on a similar page and Kylo could potentially intro Brad to the Horizon too if you like, though I don't want to snap up all your hooks. Lemme know what floats your boat and we can get this CR started!

I don't have anything set for getting him in the Horizon yet either but I think Kylo would still work well for that, especially if they're getting to know each other through sparring sessions! What's a little mindscape action between sword friends. This CR is going to be great though, I am excited for it!!
