That's absolutely legit. I love character layers like that, he's not what you would expect at all! And I am very amused at how he's pestering Estinien. I do only want the best for this weird little elf trio in game.
Oh yeah, she's not someone who acts like her own actions aren't her own. In a way she's able to compartmentalize things because they are kind of fighting a LOT of wars so death is inevitable. Like she doesn't think twice about ploughing through enemy lines to get to their goal, but she would never say she didn't do it. The Warrior of Light's bodycount is pretty damn high and I am personally not a fan of ignoring that fact, no matter how overtly nice or heroic interpretations may be. (She may be nice but she doesn't come off as heroic.)
There was actually a trial series in the last expansion that forced the WoL to go against shadows of their friends and it was definitely a sequence of "people see you as a hero but are your actions any better than ours (your enemy)?" It was A+ shit.
Her main issue is that she just gets pointed in directions and runs to it, so she questions whether or not her "hero" status is really worth. Is she just a method to implement the visions of others? Is that a bad thing? What would she actually choose to do? Blood is still on her hands, though. Insert "I'm a healer, but" meme.
