It was before that. The thing that killed me, it was out of his control. It was somethin' supernatural, I ain't ever seen anything like it. But before that... I was the only person in my whole town that survived the superflu. I saw everyone I ever knew die. Even the animals. I was alone for a month, just me and the bodies. When I finally did meet other people, they ran off and left me behind to rot.

Flagg called me. Told me to come to him and I'd never be alone again. I woulda killed myself if he didn't call.
