[Vi doesn't know what to do in this strange, unfamiliar city. Zaun might be a shithole, but it's hers: she understands it, feels the pulse of it in her own veins. She belongs there. This place, this Cadens, is alien. Navigating it feels like wandering through a dream; she keeps ducking through alleyways and side streets like this time muscle memory will trigger and she'll be able to find her way home through pure intuition. Instead she keeps going nowhere.
Above it all she's looking for Powder. What Vi will say to her when she finds her, she doesn't know. She doesn't even know if she wants to find her, or rather whether she wants Powder to be here--even if the alternative is that she's back where they left things over Vander's corpse. What would Powder do in a place like this? Would she be scared? Would she be looking for Vi too, or would Powder want nothing to do with her after the things she said and did? (Vi couldn't blame her if that was the case. Her guilt eats at her even as it drives her forward.)
It's in the middle of these thoughts that she sees a flash of blue braid in the corner of her eye, and just like that they're all dropped unceremoniously at her feet in the face of a single impulse--]
Powder.
[It doesn't have to be her, but it doesn't matter--if there's any possibility Vi's just seen Powder in the crowd, then she can't simply walk away. There's enough people between them that it might be easy to lose the trail, but Vi has always had sharp eyes, and she's always been the more athletic of the two of them, having had a head start on outgrowing her gangliness. Even if that wasn't the case, Vi's possessed by a mad desperation to just talk to her sister. Reconnect. Hug her. Apologize. Make sure she's safe and protected. Powder's all Vi has left.
It has to be her. It has to be her. There's no way Vi won't catch up.]
