Event #6 - PLOTTING POST

After pitting their Summoned against one another in an attempt to vie for the greatest control over the caskets and the Singularity, and being further spurred on by Goro's march on Solvunn, the three factions have finally made their stance...and invited all to a Summit! Tensions are high and with the outcome of the Dimming being so even, it only makes sense that everyone would extend a hand in peace and understanding.

There is nothing to worry about.

All the Summoned will be given the opportunity to travel to a remote location near the Singularity for the weekend. The event will take place ICly from February 18th through February 21st. Participation is voluntary but the respected faction leaders highly encourage their Summoned to make their presence known. After all, whoever has the highest representation likely has the most ~~loyal~~ open-minded Summoned.

A key purpose of this event, in addition to allowing inter-faction mingling between all characters, is that CHARACTERS MAY CHANGE FACTIONS AT THIS STAGE IF THEY WISH and no one will (overtly) stop them. During the Summit, every faction will be trying to win over the Summoned to either join their side or keep them from switching sides. This is not explicitly stated nor will anyone admit to it being the case, but there is a sense that the Summoned are being wooed.

Can my character leave the event early?: Absolutely! Characters can leave through their designated faction exits whenever they like. However, once they leave, they cannot return to the event. Those who want to stay for the duration of the Summit must remain in the area and use the tents as their temporary quarters.
What will my character be told if they ask to leave the boundaries?: Characters will be told that it's for their own safety that they can't leave the area. They are out in the open wilderness, so there's no telling what dangers might lurk.
How many raffle tickets can my character purchase?: ICly, characters can purchase as many as they can afford. OOCly, we ask players to submit just one raffle entry per player (not per character) for the prizes, in order to keep things fair!
Can the faction pin be removed? What happens if characters try?: The faction pin cannot be removed. It's magically attached to characters and will only dislodge once they step through the portal to return home. Attempting to remove it before then will yield no results.
How are characters assigned tents/sleeping quarters?: Characters are not assigned to any tent, nor are they required to stay in a single tent. As long as they are welcome by those already inside, they can come and go between tents as they please! Players are encouraged to do the same and to work out their tentmates with each other for CR purposes if they so choose. There are enough tents for everyone to sleep comfortably.
My character was a prisoner of Thorne. Will they be imprisoned if they want to return to Thorne?: Characters who were originally imprisoned by Thorne may switch factions back to Thorne without risk of punishment. They will be granted amnesty and will be offered the same treatment as any of the current welcomed Summoned.

Are you switching factions? Not at the moment!

Do you want others to sway your character to another faction? I definitely want him to learn more about the other factions. He currently won't likely be switching, but in general I would love for him to have a broader picture of each faction's perspective. Having the big picture is an important theme in his canon and as a perpetual outsider this is a deep part of his character.

Is your character open to convincing others to join them or to leave a faction? He hasn't gotten settled in too much yet, so he won't be pitching anything, but he's always up for debate. He might argue with other faction members just to argue?

Are you looking for tentmates? Yes, I would love them! He's a bit cagey due to a general bad past, but it's good for Wen Kexing to meet more people and have different experiences in general. Broaden his horizons! Let him annoy your character perpetually.

General Plans:
- He's got many questions! I'd like to have him generally poke people during the summit. He needs to get a good idea of how other Summoned are adjusting/have adjusted to their various situations and maybe learn some new tricks.

- Trying new food, new drinks, new fun things! Shows/demonstrations, sparring, friendly fights, questionable brawls, fortune telling, street cons, parties at 3am? Chasing him away for being too loud at 3am?

- Actual investigation. He's not subtle or discreet, but I'd like to get him introduced to the Singularity and man if someone could teach him about the Horizon he would be genuinely thrilled by that. Good things are rare and this would be amazing.

- I am always excited for getting Wen Kexing into trouble, chasing the little escape creature, fighting dangerous monsters or troublemakers, flirting, pestering the serious, or making friends with those in need. Accidental team-ups are my favorite ever.

Late night shenanigans sound fun, if you're up for it with a spaceship mechanic currently residing in Farmville! Amos might even be down to partake if they're interesting/charming enough. He's sleeping outside so it'd definitely be very easy to get his attention at that early an hour...

He'd also be down to answer any questions if asked, and would give straightforward, no-bullshit answers.

Absolutely! Wen Kexing is a Song-ish dynasty (setting is vague) martial arts master so the most he's seen of advanced technology were some steampunk like robots and he was very confused by that. He'll gladly offer drinks and food in exchange for thoughts on the different groups.

Also maybe a blanket sir don't just sleep outside!

Haha, I can see a bit of comedy here in Wen Kexing being the one actually living in the Free Cities while Amos knows so much more about the general vibe they've got going there. He could even pick his brain on that.

And he has a blanket!! He's stealing from the tents to fund his sleeping outside habit. It's totally fine!

I can hit up your top level if that works for you (unless there's something in mine that strikes your fancy and you get there first)! Probably with late night stuff because seriously, is there a better time to engage in deep and fruitful conversation than the middle of the night?

I hope that is okay! If you need me to change anything let me know. Wen Kexing is totally there for weirdly deep conversations and drinking under the stars. This is what he does.

That's great! And oh, looking forward to it. Amos might not initially seem the type to be great at those conversations but he really, really is.
