OOC INTRO & CR MEME
Hello and welcome, new players and old! Welcome to our OOC intro and CR meme. We encourage you all to get out there, plot, and introduce yourself!
Copy and paste the form below and fill it out in the comments below:
There is no formal introduction log for characters joining the game, which means that players are free to introduce their characters however they would like.
Upcoming modplot will be announced on the OOC community and signal boosted on Plurk! Event #7's OOC plotting post is scheduled for the 13th of this month, while the IC event post itself is scheduled to go up on the 16th. Stay tuned! Characters might discover there's something to the Singularity's Eye after all...
Julie Lawry | The Stand
NAME: Sarah
CONTACT:
IC INFORMATION
CHARACTER NAME: Julie Lawry
CANON: The Stand
SIGN: The Wheel of Fortune
FACTION: Free Cities
CHARACTER INFORMATION: Do you like canons that now seem oddly prescient and will make you nauseous at how close reality came to a fictional dystopia? Welcome to the world of The Stand, a miniseries released in 2020 about a global pandemic that kills 99.4% of all human life. Stephen King wrote a book in the 70s and we're all still paying the price. Julie Lawry is a manipulative, social-climbing hayseed from Kansas who is among the .6% of humanity who is inexplicably immune from the superflu. As the sole survivor from her entire podunk town, she spent a month completely alone, then fell prey to a wizard/demon/sex god, went to Las Vegas because of dreams, and now her wardrobe is fabulous. Also she died, but we don't talk about that.
Julie is teaching herself Wild magic, which is based on the user's emotions and desires. She is pretty decent for someone who is learning basically just by trial and error -- she can currently do things like control and shape fire, bottle storm clouds, revive dead flowers, and conjure pencils. Only pencils. She's working on colored pencils atm. Her next venture is to actually go commune with the Singularity while in the Horizon, because she has never done that.
She will not be licking it, tyvmShe has a distinctly strong connection to the Singularity and the Horizon, where she has a nightclub that's open whenever she's there, populated by roughly 100 fake people who live on the dance floor. There is a lot of booze and drugs available, please see the bartender (Steven, a manifestation of the Horizon) or the hostess (Julie, an idiot) if you would like some. Also if you are looking for a fuckbuddy, Julie will set you up and yes, she has references.
CR YOU WANT: Pretty much all of it
CR YOU DON'T WANT: I'm not really looking for overly antagonistic CR rn, although Julie is sometimes kind of an asshole and bully, so it's doable.
PLOTS/THREADS/THEMES YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: Despite living in Cadens, Julie really needs people who can help her learn magic stuff. She's a natural and has a lot of raw talent, but she comes from a world without any magic, so she doesn't understand a lot of what it means.
I am contemplating whether or not I want to write an adult Easter egg hunt this weekend 🤔

And Cass comes from a world with all sorts of magic, even if she's not going to be having any magical abilities herself until she starts learning in-game (because I absolutely want her to learn magic in-game), so she could use what she knows of magic in her world to try and help?

julie is basically the only person in-game who practices abraxan wild magic, and she lived in nott for months to learn it, but what she really needs are just people who can give a list of stuff to be like "maybe try doing this?", because rn her approach is just "things i saw in a movie once, so maybe it's possible"

Oh nice! Abraxan wild magic sounds great! And Cass can DEFINITELY do that. She has seen a lot of different kinds of magic (Lots of druid stuff and bardic stuff, with some cleric-y things thrown in, thanks to Vox Machina, and I figure that she definitely learned about it when she was growing up), so she will gladly suggest things.
(Would it be all right if I added you on plurk?)

the idea of helping her (and each other) with their magic problems sounds like super fun to me.
just give wanda a moment to cope with dealing with such a bubblegum extrovert. 😔

just think of her as a slower, pinker pietro
because she definitely didn't see her death comingno subject
that's exactly what's going to end up having
dying puns not includedand she may end up treating her a bit like pietro too, like, calm down ??? you're being too extroverted!!no subject
