There is no formal introduction log for characters joining the game, which means that players are free to introduce their characters however they would like.

Upcoming modplot will be announced on the OOC community and signal boosted on Plurk! Event #7's OOC plotting post is scheduled for the 13th of this month, while the IC event post itself is scheduled to go up on the 16th. Stay tuned! Characters might discover there's something to the Singularity's Eye after all...

I'm a commission artist who works the night shift which means my hours are odd as heck and unreliable, but if it's helpful at all I'm in EST in NY! CHARACTER INFORMATION:

Thane is a (former) assassin who spent the remainder of his life with a terminally ill disease, which made him reflect on his life of killing people for money and also his relationship (or lack thereof) with his son. By the time we meet him in the second game, he's all in for going on a suicide mission so that he can do some good to make up for the bad. He also reunites with his son and things are kind of...okay again. Despite his profession, he's a very spiritual and religious man and is way too polite for a guy who could kill a man with a paperclip. CR YOU WANT:

Obligatory, "give me all of it" because seriously give me all of it. But as for specifics, I would love other killers for hire/assassin CR. Love the idea of two assassins recognizing Something in one another but neither saying it. Also, just in general, because assassin morality is always interesting. Thane is a terminally (heh) patient individual so literally anything that may challenge that, or anyone who is the exact opposite of him is always a+. Gotta love that opposite CR. He also likes to keep sharp and with him no longer dying he'll want to continue to keep himself in shape, so sparring buddies is always welcome!

CR YOU DON'T WANT: Uhhh the kind that doesn't exist??? But no really I can't think of anything. I'm generally open to trying anything.

PLOTS/THREADS/THEMES YOU'RE INTERESTED IN:

So, theme and plot wise, Thane is going to end up being serious about helping to keep the world from dying, while also trying to look deeper into the world and lore and why they're here. He'll focus heavily on helping out in Solvunn as well. He'll be in this weird space where while he died with zero regrets, he'll question if maybe he still has more to give back to the universe. That's going to be his driving force in the game.

Hello there and welcome to Farmville that is definitely NOT a cult to old gods! Not at all!

Himeka here kind of makes herself the resident welcoming party to new Summoned but she's been out on a mission recently, she should be back by the beginning of April and would definitely not hesitate to go up to any new faces. Also she's happy to see other non-humans around.

She's been in the game since the beginning and was one of the first Summoned that made it to Solvunn so she's a decent source of information and is happy to share what resources she has with others. She's not a physical fighter but she is a mage so if he is down with sparring in that sense she could throw some fireballs at him.

But yes hello, Thane would be super interested to hear from someone who has been around since the beginning, actually! They should definitely have a talk when she's able. Also, Thane is a biotic which to save time on explaining I'm just gonna call it SPACE MAGIC so I think that would actually make for a good sparring session against magic. Please throw lots of fireballs at him so he can practice keeping up that biotic shield or just dodging all fancy like.

Excellent! She can provide the Run Down™ once she's back since she'd like to check in and see what happened in the Primary Settlement in her absence.

Honestly she would be super hype to hear about space and Thane's world/experiences too. She LOVES traveling and at this point in her canon she has yet to travel beyond the stars, so she'd think that was pretty damned amazing.

But yes, FIREBALLS are a go! It'll be good for the both of them. She likes being able to stretch her magical legs so to speak. She's also been studying Abraxan magicks as well if he has any interest in that!

I love Thane. He is heckin cool while simultaneously making me VERY SAD. I don't have any characters in Solvunn but I'll have to throw someone at him in the Horizon! I think he'd have some interesting CR with Stephen, especially since they'll share the goal of keeping this world from dying.

Hi Nick, I'm Mai and I love Mass Effect characters and Thane is definitely up there. I lay Shuten-Douji here and while she's in Thorne, maybe they can encounter each other in the Horizon. Also, since she's technically dead, she can probably give him some insight about doing stuff after death/the cycle of it. IDK i love weird convos about esoteric stuff like that between characters, but lmk what you think!

I also love weird esoteric conversations and it looks like she and Thane would be perfect for it! He had such a solid belief about his afterlife so he'll definitely be struggling with that. Talking about post death could be super helpful 👀

It'll be fun especially since she's a Heroic(?) Spirit and the tales based on her are pretty colorful. Also really funny she's in the Assassin class when she's kind of not assassin-like at all especially in regards to her past life lol so he can be amused by that.

I think she'll like him based on him being 'not human' as indicated in the TDM, but also having strong convictions and being hero-like despite everything he's done? Swell.

Hello, did you say terminally-ill former assassin, Zhou Zishu is also both of those things. He's from fantasy-Ancient China, so anything scifi will be a total mystery, but it seems like they might have enough in common for some real interesting interactions.

the idea of Thane being hired/taking it upon himself to try and kill Goro if he makes some leeway in pushing for war intrigues me. Is that something Thane might be willing to do/take it upon himself if he judged Goro enough of a threat?

Solvunn was Goro's first scapegoat, and he built a lot of his movement on formenting distrust of the place, and he still wouldn't mind taking a proper swing at it given the chance. He also visited the Primary Settlement a few months back and people probably still remember him, which could easily get back to Thane, I'm assuming!

Oooh, this is a neat idea! If Goro is an actual threat to innocents or people in Solvunn in general, Thane would definitely take it upon himself to look into him. And possibly try and deal with him himself if it looks like he won't let up and it looks like an action that might be needed to percent people from getting hurt. I'm mad intrigued at the potential of this!

Emet-Selch himself is not directly an assassin? But has definitely killed a whole lot of people in service to his ultimate goals and has some pretty interesting thoughts on morality as a result of it. Thane being visibly non-human would also catch his interest pretty well, especially since none of the races from FFXIV look anything even remotely similar.

Cassandra here isn't in Solvunn, but I would love to have her and Thane meet in the Horizon somehow. She's.... not technically an assassin but she did murder the shit out of [SPOILERS].

She will be delving hard into the world and its lore and its history and things, too. Perhaps they can end up pooling their knowledge or something since they're in different places and might have different resources and variations of stories.

Also I love the idea of Thane making connections with people in other factions who share his (or have very similar) goals. It's one of the things I was looking forward to that I totally forgot to bring up in my CR comment LMAO but yes! I am all for this!

Nero here is also new and coming to Solvunn, and I'd love to get something with Thane! It looks like they're going in a similar direction IRT plot (Nero too will be getting attached to Solvunn and wanting to protect it), and while he's not an assassin he is a demon hunter, and has subsequently killed, uh, some people. He would definitely be the kind of guy offering to spar with a space lizard man without question.

Absolutely yes please! Honestly it would be super cool if they both ended up wanting to protect Solvunn and also became sparring partners, especially since they'll both be new. Just a demon hunter and an (ex) assassin lizard man from space no big deal

HI Nick it's Dee, glad to be in a game with you again! Thane is so awesome. Neither of my folks are in Free Cities but maybe Horizon options some day! I have Jesper Fahey here from Shadow and Bone (books not TV) and he's already met Shepard. He's a sharpshooter mercenary back home and a roguish youth. If Thane ever wants a place to have any gun available to let off steam, he has a big gun range in his Horizon, haha!

I also have Jayce Talis hextechhead from Arcane. He's a science nerd and engineer/blacksmith and his best friend Viktor is currently terminally ill as well. He is very curious about other people and technology.

YO DEE, same here! Definitely would love a meeting in the Horizon. And also, hell yes shooting range. He's going to want to keep his shooting skills sharp even if he doesn't have an actual gun LOL

I am looking forward to Thane meeting both of yours tbh! He's been growing steadily better at socializing so please be curious at him!

Hello and welcome to the game! I love Mass Effect so getting a cast is fantastic.

Anyway, I'm Lisa! I have Jasper here from Dragon Quest XI and he is a polar opposite to Thane in that he is massively impatient and not so chill. What might be equally interesting is that Jasper died back in his canon mso if you ever want to challenge Thane's opinion on death and dying - to explore it, really - I think that'd be a really iteresting thing? He also loved sparring his friend when younger so those threads are always welcome once they get some CR going.

He also basically helped his world to die - so Thane being serious about helping this world will get his attention.

It sounds like he and Jasper would have a lot to talk about and have many interesting interactions so I'm here for this CR yes please! Some of my favorite "opposite CR" is one super patient character versus someone with literally zero LOL
