ABOUT YOU: Hello, I'm Mai! I'm someone who likes to draw a lot whether it's digital character illustrations or traditional drawing and painting and I have a plethora of fandoms that AREN'T just Fate/Grand Order... I promise!! I'm not a heavy plurker these days, but I tend to talk about music, art, original characters which are usually my bread and butter, and any video game/show/book that happens to tickle my fancy these days. I've been a bit slow due to having another game and also full-time is hell, but I'm excited for all the new people and some new developments I want to do in-game!

IC INFORMATION

CHARACTER NAME: Shuten-Douji
CANON: Fate/Grand Order
SIGN: The Devil
FACTION: Thorne

CHARACTER INFORMATION: Assassin aka Shuten-Douji is one of the many, many Heroic Spirits summoned as a Servant to your typical anime protagonist from the gacha game, Fate/Grand Order, where they're all trying to make sure human history isn't ruined or wholesale disappears. She's fairly chill about the whole Servant thing and so no matter where she is, as long as she can drink and have fun, it's all good... Even if Shuten is Chaotic Evil and a man-eating oni who will casually flirt and blatantly slip in about how delicious a person looks. Shuten is a notorious drinker and flirtatious as hell and uh, can eat humans. She doesn't need to anymore since she's a high-grade familiar type, but you know, the taste for them is still there... 💦💦💦 I promise that she likes people a normal amount.

Her likes are simple and it's the moon, handsome men, women, sake (and other booze, but mostly sake), flowers, and just feeling pleasant in general! Oh, and she's fine with getting down and dirty... with fights. Yes.

I have this Opt-Out post if other players don't want to engage with her since she's a monster with monster logic. This post also includes permissions about her Intoxication skill, but I'll always be hitting up the other player if she happens to use that on someone.

CR YOU WANT: DRINKING BUDDIES, anyone who has magic might be interested because her physical body is like, a high-level magical projection which makes her incredibly strong; most Servants are sturdy by design because they're really, really, useful familiars in the most basic sense.

If your character is good-looking (based on her taste), she'll definitely flirt with them, but Shuten mostly enjoys anyone who has an interesting reaction to her, negative or otherwise, especially those who are wary of monsters. If you're someone with some sort of heroic character or at least high charisma, she may follow along just out of whimsy (or she'll be genuinely attracted/super hungry for them...) Another type of CR I'd want is anyone who is familiar with monsters, specifically oni or Japanese legends! I put it in her permissions, but feel free to recognize her from stories that mention Shuten-Douji.

I think I'm looking to further odd friendships and getting in some good spars. She needs the exercise.

PLOTS/THREADS/THEMES YOU'RE INTERESTED IN:

I'll probably ask my Thorne people if anyone is interested in helping her enter the Horizon. She likes the castle, but if she starts getting bored, that's when she's at her most dangerous.

Speaking of, her Horizon is complete finally, so if you're interested in her playground lmk!

Lastly, I'm still on my shit regarding this: I like themes of loyalty, the humanity of a monster like herself, unlikely companionships, and the complexity of human-monster relations! Also, themes of doing good or bad deeds just because versus noble/evil intent. I guess after thinking about it a while, I like it when people make assumptions about her OR being able to read her past what she presents on the surface.

Basically, if you treat her rather nicely despite everything she says and does, she'll actually kind of behave? Sort of? At least for the specific person...

Most important of note: despite being in the Thorne faction Shuten does not adhere to their ideals and goals for the Singularity in the slightest. She is literally just there for the castle lmao. It'd be fun if someone points that out because at the end of the day, she's at her best fighting for someone or just herself.

Also very down for getting into the whole What Is A Monster thing, it's a topic Kylo thinks about a lot and there could be some interesting beats to hit in that area!

I am laughing because Kylo will be the third broody guy she will encounter in Thorne so I say yes to this. She's a fun-loving gal so it's kind of fun to be a contrast against that type!

if you still need someone to help shuten into the horizon, thancred could probably do that for her at some point! he's done it all of once now with samus so clearly he's an expert, lmao

ooooh I'd really appreciate it, I think that would be great! Shuten would totally hit up Thancred since he's one of the few people around Thorne who's been pleasant to her so far (gee I wonder why Shuten)

I'm planning to put up her april catchall post tomorrow so I could write a custom top level for Thancred if that's ok?

GEE I WONDER WHY although tbh she was pretty well behaved during their first meeting. i'm curious to see where the CR goes because if she starts eating people well... it'll make for a pretty big shift LMAO

She's actually crazily well-behaved since she doesn't need to eat to live, ~~perhaps just a nibble~~ she's more just, "Eh, when I feel like it, so don't be surprised if it happens."

Ok noted about forward dating, good thing I didn't post anything yet, phew! I'll hit you up on discord this week to hash out some details and we should be good to go.

i'm definitely going to have to throw wanda at the drunk lady in her horizon, like we've discussed! the alcohol might not be real there, but it's the thought that counts.

i feel like they also share a lot of themes, like how good/evil is not so black and white.

yay pretty redhead ~~for her harem~~ for a friend!! Shuten will definitely be interested in the nature of Wanda's powers and I kinda look forward to the odd friendship, mostly bc those themes you mentioned above and like, Shuten is all about her desires and slowly learning about Wanda and how her own desires haven't... really worked out...
