Once he concludes there's not much else he'll be getting from asking around and that the creature likely doesn't have anything to do with Solvunn's gods, Jerry will go back to the primary settlement and rope Eddie Munson into his shenanigans. Together, they'll go to one of the shrines in the woods, where Jerry will partake of the mushroom tea prepared as the natives instructed him. Eddie will remain sober to make sure they don't get lost. Edited to add, just in case it's relevant: Deciding they should probably leave some sort of offering, but having come a bit unprepared, Eddie puts a few coppers in the shrine's offering bowl; Jerry leaves it some dried meat he brought as a snack.
