EVENT #12: INVOCATION - COORDINATION POST (PART 1)

Event #12 - COORDINATION (1)

This post is for coordination to prevent the IC Event Log from being overrun by OOC mod and player communications. Forms and instructions are available in this post.

Use this post to:
◎ Coordinate event plots with the mods
◎ Request a mod dice roll
◎ Submit noticeable actions
◎ Write rapid IC exchanges
◎ Investigate a plot point or track ongoing investigations
If you have any questions, see the Questions thread on the OOC Plotting Post.
Available Forms
For details on each form, see the sections below.
Be sure to reply under your assigned category if applicable.
Mod Communications
If you have an idea related to the event plot, communicate and coordinate with us here. This includes NPC meetings, requesting resources, destroying the environment, or anything else that may require mod permission. If we can't accommodate a request for any reason, we'll do our best to offer an alternative!

Randomization Request
Request a mod dice roll at any time for outcomes and consequences. Some actions require a dice roll to proceed, such as attacking an acolyte NPC or attempting to break anything major in the environment (chains, doors, walls). If you aren't sure, you can check with us.

Request here

Notable Actions
Submit notable actions that are likely to gain attention from other players, such as fights or disturbances.

Submit a notable action

IC Exchanges
Use this option for interactions you'd like to play out, but setting up a standard IC thread would be impracticable. For instance, if your character wants to speak to several people about an event they witnessed together, you might want to do an IC exchange.

Treat this like an informal IC network thread done in person, where character reactions, snippets of dialogue, and other details can be quickly played out and concluded in-game without committing to a full log thread. Exchanges are game canon and can count towards Activity Check under the category of a Network thread.

Start an IC exchange

Using the provided form is optional. Begin a thread freeform if you prefer.

Investigations
Several investigation paths are available for characters to interact with. Each assignment group will have their own set of investigation paths. You can investigate something as many times as you want, as long as there's a reasonable explanation for your character making their second attempt. Interacting with investigations might carry IC consequences. We'll try to telegraph when characters are at high risk of triggering something major. To investigate, fill out the form, then comment under the item you're investigating.

Bless the folks in Solvunn, they are very patient and kind. He'll thank everyone for their time and learn a lot about their fun and exciting mushrooms.

When recommended he try the tea and shrine watching, Jerry will enthusiastically agree. He says he has experience with psychedelics and thanks them for the suggestion, promising to bring someone along.

Once he concludes there's not much else he'll be getting from asking around and that the creature likely doesn't have anything to do with Solvunn's gods, Jerry will go back to the primary settlement and rope Eddie Munson into his shenanigans. Together, they'll go to one of the shrines in the woods, where Jerry will partake of the mushroom tea prepared as the natives instructed him. Eddie will remain sober to make sure they don't get lost. Enjoy responsibly!

Edited to add, just in case it's relevant: Deciding they should probably leave some sort of offering, but having come a bit unprepared, Eddie puts a few coppers in the shrine's offering bowl; Jerry leaves it some dried meat he brought as a snack.

Jerry will absolutely follow the snake and urge Eddie to do the same.

Once they make it to the mushroom ring, what does the snake do? Jerry will continue to follow it wherever it goes if able; if it disappears, he's just gonna sit in the middle of the mushroom ring and pick a few.

As for Eddie: since the shrooms look so healthy, he'll check out the unhealthy vegetation in the immediate surrounding area just to see what's up, what vibes it's giving off, take the chance to get away from the snake just a lil bit, etc

If nothing more can be found other than the already noted difference between unhealthy vegetation and healthy mushrooms, they'll head back.

Jerry will approach one of the elders in the primary settlement with his findings and show them the mushroom. He's going to describe everything that happened, visions and all. Being familiar with the concept of "fairy rings" from general folklore, he'll ask if these are common, if they have fairies, and if fairies are known to snatch people away into the fairy realm.

Aww, bye snake buddy.

Jerry will thank the Elders for the info and consider himself tasked with restoring the shrine. He's actually very good at arts and crafts type projects, and as more info is discovered pointing to high magic and gods involved in the kidnappings, he'll be focusing his efforts on the shrine since he'll consider it connected. If he can find equipment around town, he will be doing his best to clean up the shrine, fix the carvings of the snakes, and paint it.

He hangs onto the mushrooms and will be keeping Himeka looped in as well. If anyone needs them to access still in Josselyn's house, Jerry is more than happy to share and be helpful.

Edited to add: Himeka and Eddie will help restore the shrine too!
