Mod Communications / Randomization

If you have something you want to do related to the event plot, you can communicate and coordinate with us here. This includes NPC meetings, requesting large resources, destroying the environment, or anything else that may require mod permission to proceed. If we can't accommodate a request for any reason, we'll do our best to offer an alternative!

Interactions

Several interactions are available. For Part 2, there are fewer mysteries to uncover, but plenty to interact with to see what happens. You can interact with something as many times as you want, as long as there's a reasonable explanation for your character making their second attempt. Note that interactions might carry IC consequences, though we'll try to telegraph when characters are at high risk of triggering something. To interact, fill out the form, then comment under the corresponding item.

IC Exchanges

Use this option if you have an interaction you'd like to play out, but setting up a standard IC thread would be impracticable. For example, if your character wants to speak to several people about an event they witnessed together, you might want to do an IC exchange.

Treat this like an informal IC network thread done in person, where character reactions, snippets of dialogue, and other details can be quickly played out and concluded in-game without committing to a full log thread. Exchanges are game canon, and can count towards Activity Check under the category of a Network thread.

I found one of them in the Horizon. Some of them have escaped through a portal hidden behind a wall, he says. They're somewhere high in the mountains. Maybe Hayle?

This one is in really bad shape. Still talking to him.

How many escaped? Do they have any supplies at all?

Still getting details. He's kinda out of it. I don't think they have much in the way of supplies.

That's not good. The elements could kill them if their captors don't catch up and take care of that. Can you ask him to describe landmarks? The direction of the sun? Anything.

All he said so far is that it's cold and snowy, but he also said "like Mount Everest". So, somewhere that's REALLY high and surrounded by other mountains, maybe?

I know there's people who got kidnapped that know how to survive in the mountains. I'm trying to see if they got out with him. Like I said, he's in bad shape, it might take me a little bit to get him really talking.

He's real messed up, but the connection's good.

He has lesions, yeah. Lots of bandages. Sort of... like, dazed, I guess? [ She thinks about this for a moment, then adds, ] But actually, I met this guy once before, and he was kinda weird then too, so maybe that part is normal for him.

Are you still keeping near the Singularity?

Well, the last time I met him, I almost shot him in the face and he barely blinked, so.

Yeah. I think it's probably good for him to be here.

How bad a shape are we talking?

Bad. He's got these like, weeping sores all over. Plus lots of other random shit, scrapes and wounds. Looks like they tried to bandage themselves up, but... I mean, it's the Horizon, Nadine. If this is what he looks like in here, then I don't wanna know what he looks like out there.

Yeah, that doesn't bode well at all.

The teams are equipped with some heavy duty medical supplies, and we have plenty here, but that doesn't really help any of them now. If they're somewhere cold and with snow...damn it, not much helpful grows in cold snowy places.

No, but it means there's clean-ish water, which I think is probably more than they had before.

It's that ritual. I don't think regular medicines are gonna help much.

Portaled into the mountains? For fuck's sake.

[ Escaping only to be killed in the snow. Jesper is this close to a meltdown. ]

There are a lot of mountains according to the map. Can you ask him if he sees the Singularity?

We're going as fast as he can, but he's messed up, Jesper.

He's from a world like mine though, and he said it's like same kind of place as the tallest mountain in our world. So it's probably somewhere SUPER high, with a lot of other mountains around.

I'm looking at a map. There's all those mountains to the north in Hayle like you said, but there are some all around the Singularity to the north, not far from the island Viktor says they're at. If the Singularity looks close to them, it's probably there.

I'm gearing up in warm clothes, we're going to have to go after them.

He says they didn't all get out. We're looking at two different rescue groups. One to hunt down the folks that escaped, the other to get to the ones left in the pit.

[ That is...good news! Bad conditions aside. Physical wounds can be treated, at least.

Though some of them...but really, all they need is one before the pieces start to fall. And portal would make sense that they don't want to leave an easy entrance to where they're keeping prisoners. ]

All signs were pointing north...

That he's even able to enter the Horizon after all of this is amazing. The sooner we can pinpoint where they are the sooner we can retrieve them. And those that remain.

When he's able, can he describe how they made it out? I have a hard time believing their captors let their guard down willingly.

[ Did they have to put up a fight? Does that mean they're in even poorer condition than they would be otherwise? How would this bode for the people left behind? ]

He said the walls were cracking, and behind them was some kind of webbing. When they pulled open the webbing, there was a portal that some of them were able to get through.

All he said is that things "started getting really fucked up", before they left. I don't know what that means yet. My guess is that more of them will start coming to the Horizon when they're safe-ish. I don't think this one actually meant to come, I think it just happened to him.

But I'll be here for them when they come.

Cracking open and revealing a portal covered in webbing... It gives us something to look for, mayhaps. And those portals have to connect somewhere, right? Unless they were using are remote area in the mountains for all their travel.

Ah... I guess it's not surprising with the frantic messages that we were able to get. That things would escalate the longer they were there... If they were really eager to facilitate this relationship to the gods. Or a god.

Just happened? I hope that means he's safe enough in the world. But that does make me wonder if it was an automatic reaction to feeling safe if for a moment. Has that happened before?

My guess would be some kind of network of portals. Bounce around a bunch of places until they hit this mountain portal, which takes them to the underground pit or whatever. That's what I'd do if I was trying to hide my tracks. Make them hard to follow. But the portals are probably shut down now, since some people made it out.

He told me he's with people that I know for a fact can keep him safe out there. So maybe he just finally relaxed so much he slipped into the Horizon. I don't know if anyone's ever come here on accident before, but there's a first time for everything.

Fuckity -- A development I don't think any of us were prepared for. Escape.

[Apparently they were just too slow. But maybe -- if anyone could escape, Geralt and Ciri could.]

Are you all right? Do you need assistance? [Not that there is much to fear from others in the Horizon, but there is still some element of danger.] I am organizing the tents in Nocwich, but I can come at your beck and call.

I'm all right. Geralt and Ciri got out. The guy I'm with said they're keeping lookout right now.

Not right now. Nocwich is more important. The ones that escaped are on the run, so I expect they'll be mostly out in the world, dealing with that. I can take them as they come. And I'll let you know if I need anything.

[There's some short messages of exclamations where he isn't sure what to say. Only after Geralt messages him does he come back, because otherwise he'd lose his fucking mind.

Only if you are sure. I'll promise you the best room in Nocwich, then, should you come. I know you'll make yourself ast home, as you always do.

[He's still no complaint of her pleasing herself with their finances, and he knows Nadine is the same.]

At least get some wine. You may need it.

[ She doesn't blame him. She had to message Geralt first, and he didn't even try to talk to her while he was kidnapped and imprisoned and tortured for two weeks.

They will be having a Talk when he's not on the edge of death. ]

Once we physically find them, I'll come to Nocwich.

But Jaskier, if any of the ones who escaped contact you, tell them to come to the Horizon. I don't know exactly how, but I think being around me is helping them feel better. At least a little.
