This post is for coordination while the event is ongoing, to prevent the IC Event Log from being overrun by OOC mod and player communications. The comments section will contain applicable comments and forms for you to reply to as needed.

Mod Communications / Randomization

If you have something you want to do related to the event plot, you can communicate and coordinate with us here. This includes NPC meetings, requesting large resources, destroying the environment, or anything else that may require mod permission to proceed. If we can't accommodate a request for any reason, we'll do our best to offer an alternative!

You can also use this section to request a randomized mod roll.

Interactions

Several interactions are available. For Part 2, there are fewer mysteries to uncover, but plenty to interact with to see what happens. You can interact with something as many times as you want, as long as there's a reasonable explanation for your character making their second attempt. Note that interactions might carry IC consequences, though we'll try to telegraph when characters are at high risk of triggering something. To interact, fill out the form, then comment under the corresponding item.

IC Exchanges

Use this option if you have an interaction you'd like to play out, but setting up a standard IC thread would be impracticable. For example, if your character wants to speak to several people about an event they witnessed together, you might want to do an IC exchange.

Treat this like an informal IC network thread done in person, where character reactions, snippets of dialogue, and other details can be quickly played out and concluded in-game without committing to a full log thread. Exchanges are game canon, and can count towards Activity Check under the category of a Network thread.

( With only the Abraxan deck of cards at his disposal Urianger's healing abilities have been funamentally changed since he was Summoned — a change which has been further weakened since they were brought to this dank, festering pit. He calls on the stars, implores them to share their gifts with him that he might pull on their benefic magicks in aid of others—

And it works, albeit without anywhere close to the potency he would hope. That it is better than nothing is all he can hold on to at the moment.

Since succumbing to the ritual he has been doing his best to keep himself to himself, wracked as he is with shame and embarrassment for his behaviour during the worst of it. He is, however, alert and on hand should his skills as a healer be required, and so when the urgency in Istredd's voice cuts across the altar room Urianger is at his side in an instant. His initial assumption is that he needs help with his own injury, however it becomes quickly apparent that whatever is happening by the altar is significantly worse. )

Twelve forfend—

( He gasps, his eyes widening minutely as he sinks to his knees next to the disfigured form. Each pulse, each rattling breath is difficult to behold, but Urianger nevertheless eases in a little closer before looking to Istredd, and then to Castiel and Jayden. )

Didst thou recover her in this condition?

( The blood, the viscera, the stench of it all ... the idea that she was somehow surviving inside the altar is almost too horrible to bear. He gingerly lays his hands against her torso as he pulls at threads of healing magic, attempting to level out her ragged breathing and bring her some modicum of comfort. )

Or hath she deteriorated since being disturbed?

It seems so.

[ the vines pulsing with the woman from the altar. Cas answers Istredd with a sense of urgency, thankful for the help. He's clearly called the right person, as Istredd summons a healer who comes running up seconds later, Cas making room for Urianger at the woman's side. ]

Her previous condition was wedged into the altar up to her forearm, so I couldn't say.

[ He shakes his head, wishing he could offer more, but it all happened rather suddenly. How she got in there so far, what caused her to be so disfigured, how long she's been alive inside that thing, it's all a mystery to them. Poor Jayden had just been looking to poke around, now here we are with a ritual victim gone horribly wrong. Or right? Who knows, at this point. ]

Hello? [ Cas leans over to speak up near where her ear ought to be. She still seems to have a mouth, so perhaps she can speak. ] Can you hear us? Are you awake?

[Jayden is tuned out of the conversation for several seconds, focusing only on making sure he doesn't drop the woman and calming himself down, and so Urianger's last question is the first one he hears. Castiel answers it, but Jayden adds a half clarification, half question of his own.]

She had to have... She had to have been in there the whole time, right? At least since we've been stuck in this room.

[But probably even before that.]

There's no saying how long she's been there.

[ it's truly horrific, and he watches jayden for panic. clearly he's not used to sights so grotesque or monstrous as this. he lifts a hand free, squeezes his shoulder, and finds jayden's eyes to check that he's with them, gives a reassuring nod. it's alright, if he needs to step away, he can. The three of them should be able to hold her in the meanwhile.

cas listens for any words or sounds out of the woman. nothing comes, and he shakes his head, glancing up to the others. ]

Istredd. Can you touch her mind?

I'll try. Keep a hold of her if you can.

[ It would usually be incredibly easy for him to do this, but using his abilities has required a great deal more focus and precision, and in short bursts. Still, if ever there is a time to make it work, now might be it. He reaches out to very gently touch her forehead with his hand and pushes through. ]

Steady. He speaks to her. We are friends.

[ The link works but not only for him, for everyone who is currently touching her at that moment, they are all connected at once. They see through her memories of god-like figures and Josselyn Creed. Her vision is more of a hallucination than what they experienced, although Istredd cannot see the difference himself, having not been in the ritual. He holds the link. ]

Is this what you saw? [ He has to ask the others. ]

[Jayden is definitely not used to this. He can handle dead bodies, even when the cases are quite gruesome, but so many of the things that have been happening in the last few weeks aren't even possible in his world, let alone anything he could've grown accustomed to. It's all a shock, and a half-transformed, likely dying mushroom lady linked to an altar used in a horrific ritual is just... A lot.

But he's dealing with it, and feeling Castiel's hand on his shoulder helps ground him a little. So when Castiel catches his gaze Jayden blinks hard a few times, then returns the nod with one of his own. He's okay, he's got this, and decides not to step away, although he somewhat regrets the choice when they see the woman's vision. At least the vision in itself isn't inherently disturbing.

He doesn't verbally answer Istredd's question, but shakes his head. No, that's definitely nothing that he saw.]
